Яхта «Апостол Андрей» в полном составе экипажа вышла из залива и начала свой путь в сторону дома. Погодные условия непростые - воздух 0 градусов, вода +1, прошел снег, такелаж и палуба в ледяной корке после ночных заморозков, ветер северный/северо-западный около 8-11 метров в секунду.

Связь с большой землёй скупая, сообщение дошло транслитом, но главное в нём читается сразу: все живы, здоровы, быт налажен и достаточно комфортный. ⚡️ Энергетика. Экспедиция фактически работает автономно — на аккумуляторах и солнечных панелях. Никаких генераторов на полную мощность: каждый ватт на счету, и ребята выжимают из него максимум. 📻 Эфир. Работа идёт на всех диапазонах. На КВ развёрнуто шесть рабочих мест: два CW, одно SSB и три FT8. Вчера поставили вторую антенну Spider на 5 диапазонов — сигналы с острова станут ещё увереннее. 🛰 Спутники. Второй день команда работает через низкоорбитальные спутники (LEO), и эта активность будет только нарастать — вплоть до 23 сентября. Отдельная победа — QO-100. Сегодня получен стабильный приём, уровень −75 дБ. Это по-настоящему непросто: на широте Земли Франца-Иосифа геостационарный спутник висит у самой линии горизонта, практически на пределе видимости. Communication with the mainland is sparse and the message came through in transliteration, but the key point is clear: everyone is alive and well, the camp is set up, and living conditions are quite comfortable. ⚡️ Power. The expedition is effectively running off-grid — on batteries and solar panels. No generators running flat out: every watt counts, and the team is getting the most out of each one. 📻 On the air. Activity is under way on all bands. There are six HF operating positions: two CW, one SSB and three FT8. Yesterday a second 5-band Spider antenna went up, so signals from the island will be even stronger. 🛰 Satellites. For two days now the team has been working low-orbit (LEO) satellites, and this activity will only grow — right up to 23 September. A special achievement is QO-100. Today stable reception was established, at a level of −75 dB. That's genuinely hard: at Franz Josef Land's latitude the geostationary satellite hangs right at the horizon, practically at the limit of visibility. Tomorrow the team will install the transmitting side — stay tuned! 🐻‍❄️ Neighbours. There are 14 polar bear dens around the camp, and the team can see the bears with their own eyes. That's why outdoor work is limited to about five hours a day: antennas, repairs, trips to the shore — all strictly in daylight and under constant watch. 🔧 Upkeep. Part of the team's effort goes into repairing the base and the boat. The Arctic doesn't forgive carelessness, so camp life and equipment are as much a part of the expedition as the radio. 💾 Logs. There's no broadband internet on the island, so logs are uploaded in chunks of no more than 300 KB — anything larger simply won't go through. В 17:54 «Апостол Андрей» был в точке 80°15,04′N, 46°31,13′E, курс 020°, скорость 6,0–6,7 узла. На радаре справа по борту уже светятся первые засветки берега. До поворотной точки у мыса Ниль оставалось меньше трёх миль — около получаса хода. ⚓️ До точки высадки — 36,9 мили, расчётное время в пути около 5 часов 50 минут. Счётчик пройденного пути показывает 41 601 милю — «Апостол Андрей» знает, что такое океан. 📜 Немного истории. Мыс Ниль — западная оконечность Земли Георга, самого крупного острова архипелага. Имя мыс получил в честь Уильяма Генри Ниля, английского натуралиста и врача, участника экспедиции Бенджамина Ли Смита , которая в 1880 году открыла и саму Землю Георга, названную в честь принца Уэльского — будущего короля Георга V. А почти полвека спустя, в сентябре 1928 года, к этим берегам подошёл ледокол «Красин», искавший пропавший экипаж дирижабля «Италия» . Именно у мыса Ниль над архипелагом впервые был поднят флаг СССР. Мимо такого места не проходят молча. Идём под двигателем, как и весь последний отрезок: ветра почти нет, зато вода спокойная, а подход к архипелагу в такую погоду — подарок. Впереди самое ответственное: постановка на якорь и высадка на берег с лодки. Less than three miles remained to the turning point at Cape Neale — about half an hour’s run. ⚓️ 36.9 miles to the landing point, with an estimated 5 hours 50 minutes to go. The ground log reads 41,601 miles — Apostol Andrey knows what an ocean is. 📜 A little history. Cape Neale is the western extremity of George Land, the largest island of the archipelago. It carries the name of William Henry Neale, the English naturalist and physician who sailed with Benjamin Leigh Smith  — the expedition that discovered George Land itself in 1880 and named it after the Prince of Wales, the future King George V. Almost half a century later, in September 1928, the icebreaker Krasin came to these shores while searching for the lost crew of the airship Italia . It was at Cape Neale that the Soviet flag was raised over the archipelago for the first time. You don’t pass a place like that in silence. We’re under engine, as we have been for this whole final stretch: there’s almost no wind, but the water is calm, and an approach to the archipelago in weather like this is a gift. Ahead lies the most demanding part: anchoring and going ashore by boat. Попутного ветра почти нет, поэтому основную работу делает дизель — средняя скорость 5,4 узла. За кормой большая часть Баренцева моря: яхта уже севернее Шпицбергена по широте, между архипелагом и Новой Землёй, и держит курс прямо на Землю Александры. ⚓️ До цели осталось 140 миль. Завтра ожидается вход в 12-мильную зону архипелага. 🌤 Погода благоволит: над районом Земли Александры и завтра, и в понедельник ожидается ровный умеренный ветер порядка 15–20 узлов без штормовых усилений, у берега слабее. Most of the Barents Sea is astern: the yacht is now north of Svalbard's latitude, between the archipelago and Novaya Zemlya, heading straight for Alexandra Land. ⚓️ 140 miles remain. Entry into the 12-mile zone of the archipelago is expected tomorrow. 🌤 The weather is on our side: over Alexandra Land both tomorrow and on Monday a steady moderate wind of some 15–20 knots is expected, with no gale-force spikes and lighter air close inshore.
