For the first time I talked to strangers in Amharic since coming here 🤩💪

Friday Progress: ✅ Merged my first PR in huge codebase 😁 ✅ Attended more than 3 talks ✅ Won a bet ✅ Met some ppl from NY ✅ Been listening to Dave live songs 🥹😊 ✅ 5/5 days worked from office 🤩 ✅ finally over with the throat allergy 💪. ❌ Not playing any game (purposely tbh) ❌ Didn’t go to the gym ❌ Under slept couple days 😩 ❌ Major expense upcoming 😭

So I was planning to take partial time off day next week Tuesday because I have some appointment to attend to. I asked my boss whether I should mark that day as a time off day or excused day. Context: if I take a partially time off day it’ll be deducted from the time off days I’ve this year and same goes for excused day from my excused days. So my boss calls me and says you sure you wanna take a time off day or excused day? I was like do I have another choice 🙄. Then he said you can mark on your calendar that you’ve a private appointment from this to this and that should be fine. Me being me are you sure boss 👀? And he was like yep I just don’t want you to waste your time off days and excused days on smtg that takes less than half a day. These little things are the things that makes me wanna work to prove that I’m worth his trust. May be we should apply this if we’re in some leadership position whether you’re a big manager or small team lead. The principle applies. But don’t spoils those brats 😂.

Does anyone know anything about AI in browser things??? More about AI agents in browser how they work and things like that?

I was listening to Ezra Debugging talk and he talked about the rubber duck thingy. It reminded me of a time my friend used me as one to debug his code 😭. Of course I gave him some theories but now I remember it I had no context of it and I was suggesting based on the context he had and I was questioning his assumptions because I didn’t have the context and because of that I had no assumptions. We were able to get actionable tasks from the talk. Though I was a bit useful, but I was still the rubber duck 🤦‍♂️.

Ordered my lunch and got this card along with it. I think this is the best way to ask for review. Natural, Authentic and Real. Mid week so story time. This happened in Manchester. I went to the game with my boy who’s a United fan and I’m not just in case you thought 😁. Anyways he texts me and says he wants to go to Old Trafford and asked me if I want to as well. UK me, I don’t say no to fun so I agreed. He handled the tickets and my one job was to handle the hotel booking. In which I did a great job 👏. Thank you 😁 but it didn’t last long. After a whole full day of Saturday we went to the place we’re staying and I didn’t book hotel, I booked Airbnb. Yaaay me because it was cheep 😂. Before arriving to Manchester I made a hug scene informing the owner that we’ll be there in the moring before 12 and he should make things ready for us mnamn neger because the actual check in time was at 3. After all this drama and the owner arranged the place for us before 12 we ended up going to the place at 6 🤦‍♂️. So now we’re at the door except for this tiny tinny mistake which was the door number was 26 and we knocked at 28. So we rung the bell, knocked hard and no one was responding. We saw a woman in the house chilling with the tv open and laptop on the other hand. So we thought why not knock the window and ask her to open the door to us ✊. And my boy gives that task to me. So I did what we decided. So she saw me through the windows and jumped as if she saw an alien and rushed to call the police. The way she jumped I still have it on my brain as a reply video omg 🤦‍♂️. Anyways she was so frightened with us that she opened the door as if a robbery person came knocking your house. Then we told her what happened and she opened the door as if she felt safe and told us it is the next door not this one. So we apologised for it and went back to our place 😭😭😭. If she had a heart or blood related issues she’d have fainted right there 😩. Long one but hope you enjoyed it.
