george orwell born in bihar will never not be funny lol. even rudyard kipling was born in bombay abd became the first indian born to win a nobel prize in literature lol, but alas he was an asshole. he wrote "the white man's burden" which is, in simple words, a justification and glorification of colonization. most of us have read abd loved the jungle book hardly realising with what intention kipling wrote it because it’s far from being a politically innocent children's book.

issues with mars not being transparent about their product development formulation testing etc have been around for a while now but people seem to overlook them because the products are so ridiculously affordable for the quality they offer. a normal person cannot keep buying elf, kay beauty or whatever other bougie brands. when you’re getting a huge shade range and genuinely good performing (not talking bout the ethical or skin issues, but the actual work of those products) products at 100 to 500 it’s very easy to prioritise affordability over questions about how the product was developed or tested.
but i also think that’s exactly where the problem lies. affordability shouldn’t mean consumers have to compromise on transparency or safety and brands should be held to the same standards regardless of their price point and there should be clearer information about ingredients, testing, formulation and manufacturing so consumers can actually make informed choices
(i have a mars lipliner 😹)

marcus in copenhagen had me crying. tbh everything about this show makes me cry and idk how it’s always getting nominated under the comedy genre.
