One ranker's notes for all four GS papers, in one place:
📎 GS 1 + a separate Geography file
📎 GS 2
📎 GS 3
📎 GS 4
The speciality of these notes: he built them around just two things: syllabus points and PYQs. In his words, he avoided writing anything unnecessary. That's why they're lean enough to actually revise.
💡 How to use: don't replace your notes with these. Open the syllabus point you're on, check what he kept, and add only what's missing to your own notes. Lean notes get revised. Fat notes get abandoned.

| 5 | 🧠 Friday night. Let's talk about the paper that quietly decides ranks.
Your optional is 500 marks. Two papers. And it behaves very differently from GS.
In GS, most people who make the final list end up within a few dozen marks of each other. Everyone is reading similar sources and writing similar answers.
In the optional, the gap between two selected candidates can be 50 to 80 marks. That one subject can move you hundreds of ranks up or down.
Now ask around your library. Most people will tell you the same plan: "Optional after Prelims."
Do the maths on that plan. Prelims is in May. Mains is around three months later. In those 90 days you have to revise four GS papers, practise essays, write test series, manage the nerves of a Prelims result… and finish an entire optional from zero?
That's how people clear Prelims and still miss the list. Not because they were weak. Because they ran out of days.
The ones who'll take those ranks are doing something boring right now. 2 hours of optional every single day, next to their Prelims prep. No big announcements. Just one unit at a time, all winter.
The optional is the one place where hard work still shows up clearly in the marks.
If you haven't started yet, November is your month. Not January.
Tonight, do one small thing. Open your optional syllabus, count the units, and divide by the weeks left till March. That number is your weekly target. Write it somewhere you'll see it every morning.
Paper 1 by winter's end. Paper 2 before Prelims. Then Prelims gets your full attention.

| 7 | We went through all 450 questions of UPPCS 2023-25. 149 of them could be answered from NCERT alone, about 1 in 3. So every NCERT line you miss costs 1.77 marks. 18 marks ka matlab hai ek poora saal.
✅So FLT 6 (Thu, 5 Nov) is the NCERT test: 51 questions straight from NCERT, Class 6 to 12: 68 marks in one paper- Each solution names the exact book and chapter
🔶 Get a line wrong on 5 November and you can still fix it. Get it wrong on 6 December and you can't. If this one test catches even 10 such lines, it has done its job.
💰 All 10 FLTs + 7 booklets: ₹499 for the first 100 students (₹799 after). New here? FLT 1 is free.

| 8 | 📊 Data, Facts, Case Laws & Articles (GS 2 + GS 3) | Dishant Nisar, AIR 19 (CSE 2025)
His GS 3 scores across three Mains: 92, 113 and 97. In a paper where crossing 90 is hard, that's rare consistency.
The speciality: a single factsheet with the data, facts, case laws and constitutional Articles he used across GS 2 and GS 3. He calls enriched value-added notes the "Brahmastra" for GS 3.
His own advice: prepare a factsheet for memorising data and committees, especially at the last minute. This is his.
💡 How to use: pick 2 data points and 1 case law per topic, and use them in every answer you write this week. What you've used once in an answer, you'll remember in the exam.

| 13 | Let me say something exam channels don't like saying out loud.
Most people reading this will not see their name in the UPPCS final list this year. That includes good people. Hard-working people. People who deserved it. I know, because for 6 years I was one of them.
Hi everyone, Shubham here. Not a strategy post today. Just a conversation.
People sometimes ask me: if most aspirants don't make it, why do you keep doing this? My honest answer: because the ones who don't make it still deserve someone who took them seriously.
In the last UPSC cycle I mentored 38 aspirants one to one. 13 ranked, 21 got interview calls. We celebrated those loudly, and we will keep doing that. But some of the messages I go back to on bad days are from people who never cleared. They talk about finally having a plan. About sleeping better. About not feeling alone in a small room at 1 am.
We keep those messages in a feedback channel, rankers and non-rankers together, because both are real. Go read a few. Not to buy anything. Just to see that the people around you on this road are more like you than you think.
So here is what I want for every UPPCS aspirant here, whatever 6 December brings:
🟠 If you clear, we will be the loudest people in your comments.
🟠 If you don't, I want you to walk out of that hall knowing you prepared the right way, not the panicked way.
🟠 And either way, I want you to still like yourself on 7 December.
Result humare haath mein nahi hai. Tayyari hai. Let's take care of the part we can control.
Love you all ❤️

| 14 | +1 🗂 GS 2 + GS 3 Micro Notes | Rupal Jaiswal, AIR 43 (CSE 2025)
The speciality: micro notes are the final layer, the pages a ranker actually revises in the last days. These show how much a whole GS paper can be compressed.
✅ GS 2 micro notes (with her abbreviations)
✅ GS 3 micro notes
She's honest that some abbreviations may not make sense to others, so treat these as a template, not a textbook.
💡 How to use: take one topic you've already studied and try to fit it on half a page in her style. If you can't compress it, you haven't revised it enough.

| 17 | +4 🌐 PSIR Paper 2A Notes | Dishant Nisar, AIR 19 (CSE 2025)
The speciality of these notes: handwritten notes on the static core of Paper 2A, the part that doesn't change year to year:
📎 Approaches and Theories of IR
📎 Comparative Politics: meaning and approaches
📎 Globalisation, politics of representation & participation, the state in comparative perspective
📎 Key Concepts in IR
📎 A short value-addition sheet
His base was Shubhra Ma'am's class notes, with value addition from Utkarsh Sir's notes, Andrew Heywood and test series model answers.
💡 How to use: pick one theory, read his page, then write a 150-word answer linking it to one current India example. Static theory + one fresh example is the PSIR formula.

| 19 | 🎯 Can I ask you something honestly? Is something in Mains quietly troubling you?
🔶 Maybe the content feels scattered, Lack of One pager Quality Notes? (you don't know what's enough).
🔶 Maybe you write answers, but they don't feel like a ranker's (No integrated plan of toppers copies and PYQs) - Or maybe you didn’t build discipline to write at all!
🔶 Maybe you just can't see where your marks are slipping. And you don’t have a Ranker/Mentor friend! You're not alone. Most serious aspirants carry this silently for months.
🔶 But be honest with yourself: these 2-3 months are the last real window to fix it. Once Prelims season starts, Mains gets pushed aside again, and the same problem waits for you next year. So don't carry it alone anymore.
Text Shriya Ma'am on WhatsApp and tell her the exact problem you're facing. For example it can be any one of the following: Content/One pager Notes/ Optional/ Answer writing Practice/ Feedback etc!
The more specific you are, the better we can guide you.
