*2025 WAEC GCE CRS* *NUMBER FIVE* (5a) Jesus made the statement, "So therefore, whoever does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple," while addressing a large crowd that was following Him. This occurred during His ministry when He was teaching about the true cost of discipleship. He emphasized that following Him requires a radical commitment, even to the extent of prioritizing Him above family and personal desires. Jesus used vivid illustrations to convey the seriousness of this commitment, urging His followers to "count the cost" of discipleship, similar to how one would assess whether they have enough resources to complete a building project or prepare for battle. His message highlighted that discipleship involves relinquishing personal ownership and being willing to make significant sacrifices. (5b) (i) Fear of Sacrifice: Many struggle with the fear of losing relationships, possessions, or personal ambitions when committing fully to God’s call. (ii) Worldly Distractions: The allure of materialism and societal pressures can divert attention from spiritual commitments and hinder faithful service. (iii) Doubt and Unbelief: Christians may face challenges in trusting God's promises, leading to feelings of inadequacy or faithlessness in fulfilling their calling
