Hi everyone, I am Cal, the person running this channel. I’m sharing a fundraiser for Dr Hisham Badaruddin, someone I’ve known in the longevity community in Singapore, who is currently undergoing treatment for high-grade osteosarcoma involving his lumbar spine. Hisham and his family have started this fundraiser to help with the costs of chemotherapy, potential major surgery, and other treatment options that may become necessary. He has given me permission to share this here. If you’re in a position to contribute, any support would be greatly appreciated. Sharing the fundraiser is just as valuable, particularly if it reaches someone working in osteosarcoma, sarcoma surgery, proton/carbon-ion therapy, tumour profiling, or other relevant areas who may be able to help or make a connection. Fundraiser: https://whydonate.com/fundraising/support-hishams-fight-against-osteosarcoma-cancer Please share this with anyone in your network who may be able to support Hisham or connect him with relevant expertise. 🙏 -Cal

📢 New Singapore healthspan fellowship Critical Mass Ventures has launched a Healthspan Imperative RFA for late-stage postdoctoral scientists at Singapore institutions. An RFA, or “Request for Applications”, is basically a call for researchers to apply for funding around a specific mission—in this case, translating ageing and healthspan discoveries into real-world impact. The fellowship offers S$100,000 over 12 months, with 1–2 awards expected in 2026. Funded areas include ageing biology, preventive geroscience, organ rejuvenation, AI/ML for ageing research, translational tools, and fundamental molecular mechanisms. Applications close 15 August 2026. The attached document includes all program details, eligibility requirements, application guidelines, and review criteria in a single PDF suitable for sharing with colleagues and mentors. Forward this opportunity! 🎆 Join this channel to never miss longevity meet-ups, competitions and career opportunities in Singapore 👉 https://t.me/cureaging

🇸🇬 Singapore longevity biotech Gero raises US$17 million—bringing total equity funding to US$34 million Longevity biotechnology is progressing, and Singapore is part of it. Gero uses health data, AI & physics-based models of ageing to identify targets for age-related diseases. Its models drew on about 10 million curated medical records selected from over 100 million, alongside molecular, omics and genetic data. The funding will support preclinical development & pharmaceutical partnerships. Gero has collaborated with Pfizer and entered an agreement with Chugai Pharmaceutical worth up to US$250 million in potential milestone payments, plus royalties. This shows longevity advancing from theory towards drug discovery in Singapore. 🔗 Read Gero’s announcement 🎧 Hear Gero CEO Dr Peter Fedichev discuss physics, AI & ageing (Part 1 and Part 2) on Nucleate Singapore’s podcast, Pulse. 🎆 Join this channel to never miss longevity meet-ups, competitions and career opportunities in Singapore 👉 https://t.me/cureaging

Viagra was originally developed for hypertension and angina, not erections. 😳 Now some claim it could extend life. In this post, Crémieux discusses how the associations might look promising, but healthier men may simply be more likely to use it, and stronger evidence remains soft. Crémieux usually writes about genetics, metrics and demographics, but occasionally turns his data-heavy scepticism towards longevity. This one is worth a read. 🎆 Join this channel to never miss longevity meet-ups, competitions and career opportunities in Singapore 👉 https://t.me/cureaging

Our lab is recruiting summer interns and H2-2026 interns, FYPs and UROPS students (Profs. Brian Kennedy, Jan Gruber). Topics will focus on gaining a better understanding of "drug and nutraceutical effects on hallmarks of aging". The project will employ cell and invertebrate models, including standard wet lab techniques like Western blot, qPCR, cell culture and immunofluorescence imaging. Reach out if interested.

EVENT: Novel Biological Aging Clocks Prof. Jan Gruber from NUS will introduce aging clocks - research tools that estimate biological age rather than just calendar age. These clocks are built from measurable biological signals, such as patterns in DNA methylation, blood biomarkers, and metabolic data, that change in predictable ways over time. In this talk, he will explain how aging clocks are developed, what they can and cannot tell us about health and lifespan, and how scientists use them to study disease risk, lifestyle effects, and interventions that may influence the rate of aging. This talk is designed for everyone who wants to take their health into their own hands, making informed decisions. Opening remarks by: Dr. Hisham Badaruddin Kamil Pabis, MSc 23rd April, 7 pm (please be on time) Location: TSquared Health, L9 SBF 160 Robinson Rd, #05-02 · 8749 5846 https://www.meetup.com/singapore-longevity-and-health-meetup/events/314117180/ The organizers thank https://xandrolab.com for the refreshments

MenSC Labs won first place at the NUS Academy for Healthy Longevity Startup Pitch Competition! 🥳 Founders Kyle Lao and Immanuella Indradjaja shared with the judges and audience that their work with MenSCs presents a new frontier to harvesting mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). With an aging population and the increase in age-related conditions such as chronic inflammation and tissue degeneration, the need for affordable and repeatable treatments is urgent. The non-invasive and abundant nature of menstrual blood promises an alternative source, increasing access to life-saving treatments for patients who need it the most. If you are interested in finding out more about what the team at MenSC Labs is doing, feel free to reach out to their DMs or visit their website at www.mensc-labs.com. 🎆 Join this channel to never miss longevity meet-ups, competitions and career opportunities in Singapore 👉 https://t.me/cureaging
