Nordic Air Defence, a Swedish aerospace startup, has unveiled the Kreuger Drone Interceptor System, a low cost mini missile built to counter swarms of drones. It has been revealed at a time when the West is looking for a safe, reliable and effective way to deal with the drone problem, after drones showed their destructive power in the Russia Ukraine war and in Middle Eastern conflicts. The Kreuger 100 runs on a battery powered propulsion system with software defined flight control, using advanced algorithms and smart aerodynamics instead of much of the usual onboard hardware, which cuts cost and complexity. It also has an infrared tracking system that works day and night and in different weather, including cloud cover. According to Army Recognition, this tracking system, combined with its software based design, handles target detection, classification and engagement without needing the expensive sensors, cameras or complex guidance hardware found in traditional missiles. #hm #hmintelligence
