| 4 |  📢 American schoolchildren show great interest in the new “Hello, Russia!” club - more students want to join than there are available places! 🇺🇸🇷🇺
37-year-old Alyona from Chelyabinsk has been working as a teacher at an American school for several years.
🔸 This year, she was invited to organize a Friday club called “Hello, Russia!” for students in grades 4-5, where children will have the opportunity to learn more about Russia and its culture.
While preparing the programme, Alyona discovered that the number of students wishing to participate exceeded the available places.
The school had to create an additional waiting list, and its administration promised to find a larger classroom.
Interestingly, none of the children who signed up are Russian speakers. Alyona plans to begin the first meeting in a friendly, informal atmosphere, with a traditional tea party and introductions. ☕️
🔸 A similar experience was shared by 30-year-old Kristina from Samara, who spent several years teaching Russian in American schools. Despite having no Russian-speaking students in her classes, her lessons attracted full classrooms.
According to Kristina, American children particularly enjoyed Russian fairy tales, traditional dances and songs. During one New Year's performance, the students even learned and sang the famous Russian children's song “In the Forest a Fir Tree Was Born” for their parents. 🎄
These stories show that Russian language and culture are attracting interest among American schoolchildren, even those with no Russian-speaking background.

Neuf étudiants ont assisté au cours.
Thème du cours : « Les adjectifs »
Au cours de la leçon, les étudiants ont étudié les règles de grammaire concernant les terminaisons des adjectifs selon le genre et le nombre. Ils ont appris les 30 premiers adjectifs russes ainsi que leurs antonymes.
Ensuite, ils ont créé des dialogues en utilisant les questions « Какой ? », « Какая ? », « Какое ? » et « Какие ? » avec des adjectifs. Ils ont également étudié les couleurs et se sont demandé quelles étaient les couleurs préférées et celles qu’ils n’aimaient pas. Enfin, ils ont discuté des associations que leur évoquent différents pays et appris les noms de pays russes composés d’un adjectif et d’un nom.
Pour rappel, les cours de Natalia ont lieu deux fois par semaine.

During the lesson, students discussed school subjects taught in Russian schools and universities. They also learned how to use the accusative case after the verbs любить (to love) and ненавидеть (to hate) and practiced applying this grammar in context.
