| 2 | 💸 Binance freezes withdrawals — breach in progress
Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange, confirmed to TechCrunch it's dealing with an active security incident. Funds are being drained from its hot wallets right now.
Unverified but already alarming:
🔸 Minimum estimated loss: $2 billion
🔸 Some observers say up to $5.7 billion
🔸 Tether froze $1.56 billion; Circle froze another $800 million
Founder Zhao — no longer CEO but still the biggest shareholder — posted on X that losses will be "fully covered." How, exactly, remains unsaid.
For scale: the Bybit hack in 2025 was $1.4 billion — a record, blamed on North Korea. The upper estimate here is four times that. | 668 |
| 3 | 🖖 Patrick Stewart, 1940–2025
Patrick Stewart died Wednesday at his Los Angeles home, aged 86, after a brief battle with Alzheimer's and Lewy Body Dementia. Two roles defined him for most of the world: Captain Picard across seven seasons of *Star Trek: TNG* and Professor Xavier through two decades of *X-Men*. Behind them sat twenty years at the Royal Shakespeare Company, an Olivier Award for *Hamlet*, and — somehow — a chilling neo-Nazi in *Green Room*. The range was almost unreasonable.
His final appearance as Xavier comes in *Avengers: Doomsday* this December. A film he won't see in a theatre.

| 4 | Sir Patrick Stewart has died in Los Angeles at 86 from Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body dementia.
He grew up poor in Yorkshire, spent years in supporting roles, and in 1987 took the lead in Star Trek: The Next Generation expecting it to be cancelled within the year. Seven seasons and four films later, Jean-Luc Picard had become one of the most iconic characters in science fiction history.
Collider extends its sympathies to his family and everyone who grew up with Captain Picard. | 863 |

| 7 | 🎮 The poster someone almost trashed just sold for $329,400
In 1981, Nintendo of America employee Donna Darbous rescued a Donkey Kong arcade flyer from a pile of materials marked for disposal. It just became the most expensive video game artwork ever sold at auction — beating the previous record, the original Prince of Persia cover art ($63,000 in 2023), by over a quarter million dollars.
The flyer shows Donkey Kong mid-barrel-hurl and a tiny Jumpman — future Mario — climbing to the rescue. Standard marketing material. Nearly landfill.
At the same Landry Pop Auctions sale, original Mario and Luigi artwork fetched $17,080 against a $6,000 estimate, and a Nintendo employee orientation VHS tape starring Mario went for $3,660.
Check your attic.

| 8 | 🎬 The window, not the door
"Sunrise on the Reaping" opens November 20, and Jennifer Lawrence just confirmed the original trio is back — Katniss, Peeta, and Haymitch.
Speaking on *Call Her Daddy*, she described an emotional reunion with the same crew after 11 years. Josh Hutcherson never left her side. Woody Harrelson skipped the door and climbed through her hotel window. "It wouldn't be the same if he listened to boundaries," she said.
The prequel follows a young Haymitch at the 50th Hunger Games, but Suzanne Collins' novel ends with a flash-forward featuring all three — and the film appears to follow suit.

🎮 Sony brought back see-through plastic and it rules

| 11 | 🎮 Sony just remembered what cool looked like
In the late '90s, translucent plastic was everywhere — Game Boy, iMac, PlayStation controllers. Then it quietly disappeared. Sony has decided it's time.
The Prism Collection brings three see-through DualSense controllers to PS5 — orange, green, and gray — with a high-gloss clear finish that lets you peek at the hardware inside. Matching console cover plates come in the same colors, though those won't reveal any PS5 internals, just vibes.
Preorders open November 10, shipping in February. Controllers run $85, cover plates $75.
Worth noting, per The Verge: Sony has been making translucent gamepads since the PS1 era. Every PlayStation generation has gotten one eventually. They're just calling it nostalgia now — and honestly, fair enough.

| 12 | 💻 Apple finally caved
A decade of resistance, one buried Touch Bar experiment, and today — a full touchscreen MacBook Pro. No caveats.
🔸 PROLED XDR, 14" and 16", 2,000 nits, 10,000,000:1 contrast
🔸 M5 Pro / M5 Max, up to 128GB RAM, up to 16TB storage
🔸 Dynamic Island cutout, stabilising hinge for tap-without-wobble
Starts at $2,899 (14") and $3,399 (16"). Yesterday's M6 MacBook Pro from $1,999 makes the touchscreen clearly a premium tier, not the new normal.
Second big launch in two months for new CEO John Turnus. The man did not come to coast.

| 13 | 🎬 Mr. Darcy has a new address: Netflix
Jane Austen doesn't go out of style — she just gets a new streaming deal. Netflix has dropped the first trailer for its six-part Pride and Prejudice, arriving December 3, 2026.
Emma Corrin plays Elizabeth Bennet; Jack Lowden — fresh off *Slow Horses* and a serious run at James Bond — steps in as the famously proud Mr. Darcy. Dolly Alderton wrote the scripts, Euros Lyn directs, and the team is billing it as a faithful retelling: adversaries to lovers, 19th-century English society, the whole beloved machinery.
The trailer reads warm and sun-soaked. Classic is classic — sometimes you don't reinvent the wheel, you just polish it.

| 14 | 💸 The Quiet Price of Silence
xAI has been building massive data centers in Southaven, Mississippi — and is already facing lawsuits from residents over near-constant noise from its gas-fired turbines. The company's solution: buy the neighbors out.
Subsidiary MZX is reportedly offering to purchase 418 homes near the site. The catch: sellers must sign away all legal claims. Eighteen owners have already agreed; renters got 60 days to leave after their landlords said yes.
MZX's letter is admirably candid — the company "denies all allegations" but happens to need the property for business purposes. Legally tidy. Morally, well.

| 15 | 🎮 Wendy's made a pixel RPG. It actually looks good.
Wendy's — the burger chain — is dropping a turn-based RPG on Steam: WendyQuest: Legend of the Four Corner Stones. The trailer is out, and the internet is split between "wait, is this good?" and "this is genuinely good."
Wendy and three companions (Sir Chicken included) battle mech-monsters to save a culinary kingdom. Enemies are animated menu items — Frydusa is a fry container gone full snake-pit. HP restores via Dave's Single. The dialogue leans in: "Where's the beef?"
Developer is 81monkeys, an indie studio from BC. The Steam page proudly notes it's "100% human made" — which in 2025 is its own kind of flex, per IGN.

💾 SK Hynix can't keep up with AI memory demand
Somebody in your orbit definitely had a no-phone day — pass this along
CHEATKOTT - Your Daily News | 1 561 |
| 18 | 💾 AI memory demand is double what SK Hynix can actually ship
South Korea's SK Hynix, the primary supplier of high-bandwidth memory for AI chips, just posted its first-ever quarter above 100 trillion won in revenue (~$78B) — up 328% year-on-year, with an 80% operating margin.
The real story: DRAM and HBM volumes through 2029 are sold out, demand is expected to exceed supply through 2030, and customers are asking for double what the company can deliver. Fourteen major cloud and tech customers have already locked in long-term contracts on 2027–2028 capacity.
Asked whether AI might be a bubble, the CEO pointed to 30–80% cloud revenue growth and order backlogs that have doubled.
Maybe there's a bubble. The memory to feed it runs out first.

| 19 | 🎬 The doctor's time has come
Noah Wyle is 54, and he's just been named People's Sexiest Man Alive — for the first time in a career that started back in 1994.
Most people know him as John Carter from *ER*, the show that also launched George Clooney. Clooney, for what it's worth, publicly "nominated" Wyle for exactly this title back in January, saying "when I grow up, I want to be Noah Wyle." Called it.
These days Wyle anchors HBO's *The Pitt*, playing a worn-down attending physician who clearly has things to say. The role earned him a Golden Globe in 2026 and back-to-back Emmy wins in 2025 and 2026. Season 3 lands in January 2027.
People's list has run since 1985 — Mel Gibson started the whole thing. Wyle follows Jonathan Bailey and joins a roster that includes Chris Evans, Paul Rudd and Idris Elba.
Thirty years in the business, and Hollywood finally gets around to noticing.

| 20 | 🖖 Walter Koenig, 1936–2025
Chekov has left the bridge. Walter Koenig — the actor behind *Star Trek*'s Russian navigator Ensign Pavel Chekov — died Sunday at his home in North Hollywood, daughter and niece by his side. He was 90.
He joined the show in its second season, Beatles mop-top and all, and stayed for every one of the six original-cast feature films. With his passing, only William Shatner and George Takei remain from that first Enterprise crew.
His last interview came in 2024 — 57 years of the franchise, remembered with wit and warmth, per TMZ. | 1 268 |
