Book date with The Bookies! 📚Yesterday was National Read a Book Day, and a book date with The Bookies couldn't have been more perfect. The theme for the day was fantasy, so I knew I had to bring The Silmarillion. There's just something about Tolkien's world that pulls me in, and I figured it would spark some interesting discussions. We were all so hyped to talk about our books, it wasn't just about the books, though, it was the feeling of being around people who get why books is so amazing. Each time a new book was pulled out of a bag, it was like unwrapping a present, there's something magical about seeing someone's face light up as they talk about a book they love, and it made me eager to discover new stories I hadn't considered before. By the end of the day, my TBR list had grown significantly, but I wasn't complaining.

Think of it as a thorny rose. The beauty of life is there, in full bloom, yet we keep brushing against the thorns, letting them prick us. We might say we seek the softness of the petals, but secretly, the sharpness of the thorns intrigues us. There's something compelling about the ache, as if it whispers secrets that happiness can’t reveal. This strange affection for suffering is part of our nature, a reflection of how complex and contradictory we can be. We might not always admit it, but suffering, in a way, completes the picture of our humanity.

The notion of existence being scandalous suggests a life fraught with tumult, every action and choice seems to provoke scrutiny or judgment. Living under such circumstances can be suffocating, as if one's very being is constantly on trial, subjected to the relentless gaze of others. Despite this, there's an undeniable yearning for peace—a desire to find solace. It's a poignant reminder of the human condition, even in the face of adversity and condemnation, the pursuit of reconciliation remains a fundamental aspiration.
To navigate such a predicament requires resilience and introspection. It involves coming to terms with one's own faults and shortcomings, while also grappling with the external forces that shape perceptions and realities.
In the end, it's the quest for inner harmony and the ability to make peace that defines the journey towards meaningful life.
