Other Causes: Spasms may also stem from hemifacial spasm (unilateral facial muscle contractions), Neck-Tongue Syndrome (neck pain with ipsilateral tongue numbness or spasms triggered by neck movement), or lingual dystonia. Treatment typically involves botulinum toxin (Botox) injections to relax muscles, medications such as anticonvulsants or muscle relaxants (e.g., clonazepam, baclofen), and in severe cases, microvascular decompression surgery to relieve nerve compression.

It could also be other neuralgias. I might start with DMSO but only until I could be evaluated by a neurologist.
