These are difficult questions, but they are questions every parent should think about. A child who is not given upright Islamic cultivation and a strong foundation at home may eventually be cultivated by the society around them. And society is full of distractions, vices, temptations, and influences waiting to pull your children away from what you spent years teaching them. You cannot shield your children from everything yourself. But you can give them something that will stay with them long after they leave your home: a strong Islamic foundation. Give your children proper Islamic cultivation. Live Islam by example so they see it before they are told about it. Take them along to the masjid. Read the Qur’an with them. Teach them the religion with patience and consistency. And enrol them in a proper, authentic, undiluted Islamic school where they can learn the Qur’an, Arabic, and the fundamentals of their religion upon a sound foundation.

The seeds you plant in your children today may become the faith they hold onto tomorrow when you are no longer there to remind them.
