The Federal Reserve has increased interest rates by 25 basis points, setting the new target range at 3.75%–4.00%.
This marks the Fed’s first rate hike since 2023 — and the decision was unanimous.
More significantly for Bitcoin, the central bank’s updated projections show the median policy rate reaching 4.1% by the end of 2026. That suggests at least one more quarter-point hike if current expectations hold.
The Fed also revised its inflation outlook upward for 2026:
• PCE inflation: 3.7%
• Core PCE: 3.4%
For BTC, the immediate outcome is clear. The real challenge now? How long elevated interest rates and tighter financial conditions will persist.
