She is a doctor, isn't she?          ተመልከቱ👇 She is a doctor. እሷ ዶክተር ናት። አሉታዊ(Positive) statement ነው። ስለዚህ የምንጠቀመው Negative(አሉታዊ) question tag ይሆናል። Isn't she? She is a doctor, isn't she? እሷ ዶክተር ናት። አይደለችም? 2. Yesterday was so much fun, wasn't it? ✅ If the statement is negative, we use a positive question tag.  ከላይ ካየነው በተቃራኒ Statement አሉታዊ(Negative) ከሆነ የምንጠቀመው question tag positive ይሆናል 👇 #Example2 1. You don't study English, do you?   👆Negative statement  👆positive question tag 2. He can't read this book, can he? ✅ If there is an auxiliary verb in the statement, we use it to form the question tag. በአረፍተ ነገራችን ላይ Auxiliary verb ካለ Question tag ለመመስረት እሱን እንጠቀማለን👇 #Example3 1. Your mum hadn't met him before, had she? ✅ Sometimes there is no auxiliary verb already in the statement. For example, when: ... the verb in the statement is present simple or past simple and is positive. Here we use don't, doesn't or didn't: በአረፍተ ነገራችን ላይ auxiliary verb ከሌለና Statementu present simple or past simple ሆኖ positive statement ከሆነ don't, doesn't እና didn't ን እንጠቀማለን። #Example4 1. Jenni eats cheese, doesn't she? 👆 Present simple positive statement ስለዚ የሚፈልገው present simple negative question tag ነው። doesn't she? 2. I said that already, didn't I?       👆Past simple positive statement ስለዚህ የምንፈልገው Past simple negative question tag ነው። didn't I? ✅ the verb in the statement is a modal verb. Here we use the modal verb to make the question tag:   በ statementu ውስጥ Modal verb (Could, would ....) ካለ Question tag ለመመስረት እሱን እንጠቀማለን። #Example5 1. They could hear me, couldn't they? 2. You won't tell anyone, will you? SOME EXCEPTIONS ☑️ Lets 👉 shall we? e.g. Let's sunbathe today, shall we?      Let's የሚል ካለው Shallን እንጠቀማለን ☑️ I'm 👉 aren't I? e.g. 1. I'm getting red, aren't I?    በዚህ ጊዜ am I አንጠቀምም። ምክንያቱም አረፍተ ነገሩ Positive statement ሰለሆነ Negative tag question ነው የምንጠቀመው። ስለዚህ የ "I am " negative tag ደግሞ Aren't ነው። Amn't አይባልም! 2.  I'm never on time, am I?     ይህ Statement Negative የሆነ ትርጉም ስላለው የምንጠቀመው tag question positive ይሆናል ማለት ነው። ስለዚህ የ "I am" positive tag question ደግሞ "am I" ነው። ☑️ Imperative, will/would/could you? e.g. Pass me the salt, will you? ☑️ Negative words (no, never, hardly, nobody, little, ...) which stand for negative verb need a positive tag. እነዚህ ቃላት አሉታዊ(Negative) የሆነ ትርጉም ነው ያላቸው። e.g. 1.
