We’re defending Rivers against predators – Fubara. Rivers governor Siminalayi Fubara has said that he was not fighting anybody. “I am, rather, defending the state against predators; I am protecting Rivers against those who feel that they own the life of others,” he said in Port Harcourt on Wednesday when the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation, paid him a courtesy visit. Fubara stated that the failed attempt to detonate an explosive device at the Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt was a deliberate ploy to strengthen the call for a state of emergency.

Former Konga CEO, Nick Imudia commits suicide. Nick Imudia, former Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian e-commerce giant Konga, has died by suicide on Tuesday, June 25. Imudia, who was serving as the CEO of D.light, a leading residential solar energy solutions company, reportedly took his life in his Lekki, Lagos apartment. According to reports, Imudia jumped from the balcony of his apartment late Tuesday night.

Explosion aimed at staging insecurity for emergency rule in Rivers – Fubara. Fubara accuses Pro-Wike protesters of attempts to bomb hotel. Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has stated that the target of those who detonated the explosive around the Hotel Presidential during the protest by loyalists of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, was to create the impression of heightened insecurity in the State. The governor noted that the act was deliberate knowing that the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation, led by its Chairman, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu, was in Port Harcourt to meet with the state government.

65% of Nigerians Depend On Agriculture - NBS. It was revealed that there are about 40.2 million agricultural households in Nigeria, of which about 91 per cent of agricultural households practise crop cultivation, 48 per cent practise livestock farming and five per cent engage in fishery. Tinubu to consult further on new minimum wage. President Bola Tinubu will consult further before arriving at a final decision on the new national minimum wage for Nigerian workers. The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, deferred hearing a suit seeking to remove the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, from office until July 5.
