Shatta Wale's 'Street Crown' Approved for Grammy Consideration in Best African Music shared by his BFF 👌🏽😃

The Recording Academy has approved Ghanaian artist Shatta Wale's track 'Street Crown (African Dancehall)' for consideration in the Best African Music Performance category at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. Released in August 2025 as part of his *Voice of the Crown* EP, the self-produced song blends Ghanaian hiplife and Jamaican dancehall, with a remix featuring Vybz Kartel. Shatta Wale announced the milestone on October 1, 2025, via X, calling it a victory for Ghana, Africa, and his fans, as the entry now advances to peer review for potential nominations by November 8. Ghanaian supporters, including rapper Medikal, have rallied behind the submission in the category that has yet to see a Ghanaian winner.
