Wallet Upgrade Debriefing 😡 We've developed a new internal wallet, which allows to seamlessly onboard the app, without the need to use an external wallet. Although this solution is the most straightforward way to onboard Web2 users, this has led to confusion and negative feedback from native Web3 users. ❕So, we're to explain what it was all about. This solution allows users either to 1) create a new account with a burner wallet or 2) import the current one if you'd wish to keep using the old one. There's no objective need to import the old wallet, as we'll implement a solution that will enable users to transfer their progress to the new wallet. We expected most users to create a new burner wallet, but this was not at all obvious in the wallet flow, which locked users in the "Import State" if their email has already been used. We want to repeat that you don't need to import your old wallet. Create a new one with a new email and this will take care of the onboarding. 🔧 As of now, we've rolled back the wallet upgrade. Now every is as it was before. The new wallet will be rolled out on Mainnet release after the Points snapshot. You can create a new account without losing your progress. We'll fix the inconsistencies in the flow — that's why we need the Testnet anyway — to test things. Still, the Mainnet will have the new wallet system. It's completely secure and we do not have access to your private key. It's stored safely on your device and the server only receives a signed transaction. It's akin to Metasmask, which does not have access to your private key as well and stores it locally. 🕹What's key is that you won't need to import your old wallet. Create a new one and this will take care of your progress!
