Coinbase has opened registration for users from mainland China
Coinbase has started accepting registrations from mainland China. According to Wu Blockchain, the information was confirmed by the exchange staff: now it is possible to pass verification using a Chinese national ID and an address in mainland China.
Previously, an account required a Chinese passport and an address in Hong Kong, which effectively limited access for most residents of the country. If the changes persist, this could be an important step towards expanding Coinbase's presence and increasing the availability of the exchange to Chinese users, despite the current restrictions on cryptocurrency trading in China.
