Nuevo Estudio Científico por el Dr. Manuel Aparicio-Alonso et al. on 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸 LINFOMA NO-HODGKIN METASTÁSICO Reporte de caso: Resolución de fractura patológica por LINFOMA NO-HODGKIN METASTÁSICO mediante terapia compasiva RESUMEN Los tratamientos anticancerígenos de amplio espectro tienen una limitada selectividad celular. Los sitios de acción de estos tratamientos apuntan a bloquear la división celular e inducir la apoptosis. Esto repercute negativamente en la viabilidad y proliferación de células sanas, lo que puede causar el deterioro en la calidad de vida del paciente. En este reporte de caso, una paciente de edad avanzada con linfoma no Hodgkin, de patrón folicular grado 2 con invasión a la vertebra L3, concluyo un esquema de quimioterapia combinada de ciclofosfamida, doxorrubicina, vincristina, prednisona (CHOP). Sin embargo, la paciente reportó reacciones adversas severas y prolongadas que provocaron malestar físico y emocional, de modo que rechazó continuar con la posterior radioterapia. Ante la afectación en la calidad de vida y la supervivencia incierta, por decisión personal la paciente inicio una terapia compasiva a base de dióxido de cloro (ClO2). Este agente anticancerígeno de bajo costo provoca la apoptosis en células cancerosas al desestabilizar el equilibrio oxidativo mediante la liberación de especies reactivas de oxígeno. El tratamiento con ClO2 se administró por vía oral y enema a una concentración menor al umbral de toxicidad reportado por la EPA, para no comprometer a las células sanas, dado que éstas no experimentan los altos niveles de estrés oxidativo de las células cancerosas. Durante el tratamiento con ClO 2, la paciente no reportó reacciones adversas y se observó un aumento en la densidad ósea en terreno patológico. Se necesitan estudios clínicos rigurosos para analizar la secuencia temporal en el aumento de la densidad ósea. In this case report, an older patient with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, follicular pattern grade 2 with invasion to the L3 vertebra, concluded a combination chemotherapy regimen of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone (CHOP). However, the patient reported severe and prolonged adverse reactions that caused physical and emotional complaints, thus she refused to continue with the subsequent radiotherapy. Given the impact on quality of life and uncertain survival, by personal decision, the patient started compassionate therapy based on chlorine dioxide (ClO2). This low-cost anticancer agent causes apoptosis in cancer cells by destabilizing the oxidative balance through the release of reactive oxygen species. ClO2 treatment was administered orally and by enema at a concentration below the EPA-reported toxicity threshold, in order to not compromise healthy cells, given that they do not experience the high levels of oxidative stress of cancer cells. During ClO2 treatment, the patient reported no adverse reactions and an increase in bone density was observed in pathological terrain.
