also heres a pretty good video on distilling safety, also a pretty good channel in general
uh yeah dont poison yourself or set your house on fire
yeah and make sure the pressure cooker is made of stainless steel, not aluminium
once again, you only want stainless steel, copper, glass, and food grade silicone to touch your product
the guy also made a distiller with a pressure cooker if thats more to your liking
or you could just get one of these water distillers and use those to make booze, no tinkering required and they should be easily available
more expensive hto
really the only materials you want touching your product are: stainless steel, copper, food grade silicone and glass
for solder, use tin solder, you obviously dont wanna have lead in there
and its good practice to first distill some vinegar to clean the thing out from inside, then to do a first sacrificial alcohol distillation which will probably taste bad cause of the leftover vinegar in the still
also a little reminder, try not to use rubber but only food grade silicone, rubber will leech into your booze, can create a bad flavor and you dont exactly wanna be drinking rubber
you wont be making any whiskey or rum with this of course cause its way too small for that but you can manage gin or absinthe with it, using some cheap vodka
found this guide on making a simple ghetto still with a tea kettle, the one in the guide is meant for essential oils so its got the botanical basket in the middle, not really necessary if you wanna make alcohol but you can keep it if you wanna do vapor infusion for some gins
figured id share it with you guys in case someone wants to make a simple little ghetto distiller
Chimera run has been done
Tastes like a light japanese whisky with the sweetness of corn and molasses added in, cant really make out any fruit flavor though
