Read this if you have become very attached to something or someone due to which you are suffering a lot -
• All misery and pain come from attachment.
• As soon as extreme attachment comes, a man loses himself, he is no more master of himself, he is a slave.
• As soon as we identify ourselves with the work we do, we feel miserable; but if we do not identify ourselves with it, we do not feel that misery.
• Attachment comes only where we expect a return.
Everything that you do under compulsion goes to build up attachment.
• From attachment comes longing, and longing breeds anger. From anger comes delusion, and from delusion, confused memory. From confused memory comes the ruin of discrimination; and from the ruin of discrimination, a man perishes.
• If you can get rid of your attachment to a single thing, you are on the way to liberation.
• Our misery comes, not from work, but by our getting attached to something. Take for instance, money: money is a great thing to have, earn it, says Krishna; struggle hard to get money, but don’t get attached to it. So with children, with wife, husband, relatives, fame, everything; you have no need to shun them, only don’t get attached. There is only one attachment and that belongs to the Lord, and to none other.
These words have been said by Swami Vivekananda.
A man of good manners in free from rudeness. He is well- behaved. He is complaisant, civil, courteous and polite.
Manners are the result of much good sense, some good nature and a little self-denial for the sake of others.
Good manners make the road of life smooth. They render a superior amiable, an equal agreeable and an inferior acceptable.
This is American virologist Dr. Jonas Salk (1914-1995). In the 1950s, he decided not to patent his polio vaccine so that it would be affordable for millions of people. He lost out on roughly $7 billion but saved millions of lives.

"This infographic shows that being good at math or languages are not the only two ways to be smart.
That is what school beat into us by putting certain types of intelligence on a pedestal and ignoring other types. If you are not good at math or language, you might still be gifted at other things but it was not called 'intelligence'. Why?
In 1983 an American developmental psychologist Howard Gardener described 9 types of intelligence:
Naturalist (nature smart)
Musical (sound smart)
Logical-mathematical (number/reasoning smart)
Existential (life smart)
Interpersonal (people smart)
Bodily-kinesthetic (body smart)
Linguistic (word smart)
Intra-personal (self smart)
Spatial (picture smart)
What other scientists thought were just soft-skills, such as interpersonal skills, Gardener realized were types of intelligence. It makes sense. Just as being a math whiz gives you the ability to understand the world, so does being “people smart” give you the same ability, just from a different perspective. Not knowing math you may not calculate the rate at which the universe is expanding, but you are likely to have the skills to find the right person who will."
