The Monastery of the Holy Trinity is an Eastern Orthodox monastery in central Greece, situated in the Peneas Valley northeast of the town of Kalambaka/Greece 🇬🇷 It is situated at the top of a rocky precipice over 400 metres high and forms part of 24 monasteries which were originally built at Meteora, one of the oldest still existing of the Meteora monasteries (Meteora means "suspended in the air" in Greek)

Today we celebrate the death of the founder of ELAS, Athanasios Klaras, mostly known as Aris Velouchiotis. After WW2, he was kicked out of ELAS because he originally capitulated to the Metaxas regime by signing a declaration of repentance towards communism, as-well as being an untrustworthy character. He moved to northern Greece to try and form a new group to fight against the British government, which the communists called Monarcho-Fascist, and was completely denounced by the KKE. Him and his group were traveling through the mountains, and were ambushed by a right wing paramilitary, mostly likely Organization X. Instead of fighting for his views, or even retreating, him and his second in command, Tzavellas, offed themselves. Some say they shot themselves, others say he blew himself up with a grenade. Who cares. A good commie, is a dead commie. After the success of the ambush, him and his commander were decapitated, and had their heads strung up in the town of Trikala (as per Greek War Tradition)
