Summit of the Future: Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow. 22-23 September 2024. The Summit is a high-level event, bringing world leaders together to forge a new international consensus on how we deliver a better present and safeguard the future. This once-in-a-generation opportunity serves as a moment to mend eroded trust and demonstrate that international cooperation can effectively tackle current challenges as well as those that have emerged in recent years or may yet be over the horizon.
The co-facilitators of the Summit of the Future, Germany and Namibia, cordially invite you to participate in the upcoming virtual consultation on February 21, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST. This consultation aims to give Major Groups and other Stakeholders (MGoS) and civil society representatives the opportunity to share their feedback on the zero draft of the Pact for the Future. On Monday, January 29, 2024, the co-facilitators are scheduled to present the zero draft of the Pact. This presentation will take place from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. EST and will be webcast on UN Web TV. The co-facilitators strongly encourage MGoS and civil society representatives to follow the zero draft presentation. The seventh meeting of the WGIHR will be held from 5–9 February 2024. During this session, relevant stakeholders will be invited to deliver their interventions, followed by a drafting session to negotiate text proposed by the Bureau for some articles and annexes, and, for others, to continue discussing an approach to the development of the proposed text for negotiation.
