🎯 What GMAT Score Do You Need for a Top B-School Abroad?
One of the most common questions we hear from MBA aspirants is:
“What GMAT score should I target?”
There is no universal cut-off. But when you’re targeting highly competitive global MBA programmes, your GMAT/GRE score can significantly influence the strength of your application—alongside academics, work experience, leadership, career progression, essays and recommendations.
Here’s a practical way to look at the score ranges:
🔴 715+ → Highest range
Harvard Business School | Stanford GSB | Wharton | Columbia Business School
⚫ 685–695 → Highly competitive
Chicago Booth | Kellogg | Yale SOM | Berkeley Haas | INSEAD
🔴 655–675 → Competitive
NYU Stern | London Business School | Oxford Saïd | Cambridge Judge
⚫ 635–645 → Broader options
Georgetown McDonough | USC Marshall | Warwick | Imperial | IE
But remember:
A GMAT score is not an admission guarantee.
And a score below the range does not automatically mean rejection.
The real question is:
“Given my profile, career goals and target schools, what score should I aim for?”
At GMATclap, we help applicants go beyond chasing a number—with:
