The first thought that sparked the fire came from the observation of the ingrained pet culture in Russia. We couldn't help but notice the extensive integration of pets into the daily societal life and the challenges this poses. Seeing pet owners lead healthy life for their pets is our mission and we are working to ensure just that.

What role has teamwork played in the development and success of your startup? Do you think you could overcome it alone?

Like most startups, teamwork cannot be watered down. Having just the right team does the magic. Every member has been up to their game doing what needs to be done, from user interviews with veterinary clinics, to prototype design, customer validation and proof of concept. It cannot be done alone.

Can you share any insights or lessons learned from feedback or interactions with potential users or customers during the development phase?

One of the striking revelation from a potential user is the ethical consideration behind some aspects of our solution which has made us to think in new ways and adjust our solution to become ethically safe for pets.

The first place 🥇at SocialTech ACCELERATE was taken by SafeFoot Check out their startup idea here and let's talk: 1. Can you describe the initial spark or inspiration behind your startup idea, and what motivated you to pursue this particular concept?

The initial spark behind our startup idea was witnessing the severe consequences of diabetic foot syndrome firsthand. Seeing the urgent need for better solutions to address this issue, we are trying to make a meaningful impact on the lives of diabetic patients and improve their quality of life.

2. What were the most significant challenges you encountered while developing your startup, and how did you overcome them?

The biggest challenge we encountered was (and still is🥺) balancing our time between running the startup, pursuing further studies and conducting scientific research. We tried strict time management, delegated tasks between the team to ensure progress on all fronts without sacrificing quality.

3. Looking ahead, what are your key priorities and goals for scaling your startup in the near future?

We are looking forward for close collaborations with medical centers to validate and refine our solution and collect our own database.

When Alexander was an intern at a polar gas field, he was told about a painstakingly boring process of manual prediction of permafrosts thawing under gas pipelines. During the Innovation Workshop we came up with the idea to automate this process with help of computer vision and drones.

What is driving you forward?

Alexander’s friends at the gas field are cool guys and we want to help them.

In the long run, the project aims to become a comprehensive platform catering to all pet requirements.
