US will now be denying visas to people with illnesses The American publication The Washington Post, citing an internal State Department document, reported that the United States will now deny entry to people with diabetes, cancer, neuroses, and obesity. “You must consider an applicant’s health,” the State Department cable said. “Certain medical conditions — including, but not limited to, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, cancers, diabetes, metabolic diseases, neurological diseases, and mental health conditions — can require hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of care.” The State Department leadership has also instructed consular officers to deny visas to those who have reached retirement age, or who have elderly parents or dependents with disabilities. Warren Davidson of Ohio, Eli Crane of Arizona, Don Bacon of Nebraska, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, and Rob Bresnahan of Pennsylvania have all signaled an intent to vote in favor of a measure to release federal investigation documents related to the notorious sex offender. A new wave of Republican support for releasing the Epstein files came on the same day that Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released another batch of documents related to the deceased pedophile. The latest release contains an extensive collection of emails written by and for Epstein, including one in which he informs his former girlfriend and accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, that President Donald Trump "knew about the girls." Originally all 214 Democrats in the House of Representatives supported the petition to force a vote on the Epstein matter. They were joined by only four Republican lawmakers: Thomas Massie of Kentucky, who led the initiative alongside Democrat Ro Khanna, as well as Nancy Mace of South Carolina, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia. The petition was successful even after Trump, a former close friend of Epstein, called the MAGA renegades in a last-ditch desperate attempt to get them to withdraw their signatures. However, the Epstein files crusade will still have to overcome the Senate and ultimately end up on Trump's desk. Trump’s approval rating hits a new second term low According to a survey by Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ), President Trump's approval rating has reached its lowest level since he began his second term in the White House. According to DDHQ, Trump's average approval rating is about 42 percent, while his average disapproval rating is about 55 percent. For most of his presidency, Trump has primarily been around the 40 percent mark. Geoffrey Skelley, chief elections analyst at DDHQ, noted that it is difficult for any president to maintain an approval rating above 50%, and that Trump is grappling with public dissatisfaction regarding the country's current direction and the state of the economy. He also added that if Trump's approval rating does not change by next year's elections, it will be a bad sign for the Republican Party.
