Ans. (d) : The complex form of the given sentence is –
He admitted that he had made a mistake.
Complex sentence contains a main clause and a
subordinate clause in one sentence, added/connected to
each other with a conjunction. Complex sentence can be
a noun, adjective or adverb clause. In CS, clauses are
expanded.
34. Select the correct indirect speech of the given
sentence-
I said to him, "Let us go out for a walk"
(a) I suggested him that they should go out for a
walk

Ans. (a) : It is clear from the reported speech of the
given direct speech that the given sentence is imperative
sentence.
Hence its indirect speech will be made from the
following rule-
(i) Reporting verb ‘said to’ will be changed into
‘suggested’.
(ii) Conjunction that will be used in place of comma (,).
Inverted comma (“”).
(iii) Changes will be made in pronoun and tenses too,
following narration rule (iv) In imperative sentences
‘lets’ gets changed into ‘Should’.
