Why should you become an engineer? Engineering is not a super star sports (profession). That is, you do not have to be exceptional to become an engineer. You do not necessarily have to be the best in exact sciences. You may not be good at communicating with people. However, you can still make a decent engineer and hence make good money if you suffer for 4 years. So if you feel like you are not particularly good at anything but still want to make a visible impact and good money choose engineering. If you think about it you can most probably name a lot of businessmen, economists and politicians but can you name even a couple of successful engineers? Many people would fail to do so. But many people would be able to name famous engineering companies like Boston Dynamics, Siemens, Jacobs, etc. As an engineer you will be able to do something great without necessarily getting social credit for it. So if you want to become an anonymous hero choose engineering. Yes engineering is a hard major but everything that is hard eventually pays off. After getting an engineering degree you would become part of a big industry that, along with medicine and education, is considered as one of the pillars of modern human civilization. You may choose to design new structures, cars, pipelines, robots, engines, microchips, drugs and so much more. Along with all these cool stuff you have a chance to make decent amount of money consistently. So choose engineering and do real things!

Thank you everyone for warm birthday wishes. It was very special day for me. Every year on my birthday and throw some modest party and appreciate everyone who spent that year with me and supported me throughout my journey. This year I also want to give special credit to subscribers of this channel. This channel is not about admissions, it is not about motivation, it is not about some career development. This channel is the place where I can release all the concerning thoughts I have on particular topics. This channel helps me to self-reflect on whatever happens in my life. And the fact that some people find what I post interesting or useful is truly fulfilling and makes me very happy. The acknowledgement of my posts helping someone to expand their overview is like cherry on top. Throughout the summer I will be primarily occupied with my responsibilities as research assistant at bioengineering lab at NYUAD. I hope to do something meaningful to me in first place and do my best in designing a microchip and further in its testing and fabrication. I will try to write weekly updates on my life and create set of thematic post sequences that cover respective aspect of my life. Hopefully, posts will become regular and navigation will become more user friendly. Have a great summer and may you always be healthy!

Did you know that youcan use harry potter spells on your iphone/ipad? Once Siri is enabled, you are ready to start casting spells. At the moment, Apple has programmed three Harry Potter spells into its devices: Lumos, Nox, and Accio. Here's what they do: Lumos: In Harry Potter, Lumos is used to cast light in a dark room, and it works similarly on your iPhone. When cast, the spell turns on your iPhone's flashlight. To activate Lumos, say, "Hey Siri, Lumos." Lumos is pronounced "loo-mows." Nox: Nox is the counter spell to Lumos. So saying, "Hey Siri, Nox" will turn off your iPhone's flashlight when you're done using it. And if you weren't aware already, Nox is pronounced "knocks." Accio: In Harry Potter, Accio is a summoning charm to draw objects toward the caster. In the case of your iPhone, Accio is used to open an app on your phone. So saying, "Hey Siri, Accio [app name]" will open the app in question. For instance, saying "Hey Siri, Accio Spotify" will open the Spotify app on your iPhone. Accio is pronounced "Ack-ee-oh." Source

Many people are asking me to share my thoughts on New Uzbekistan University and I have been actively avoiding this question because I think I might potentially say something that will result in very harsh backlash. My opinion on this university and I am being completely subjective is that it is not as demanding as I expected it to be and it is not as rigorous as I expected it to be. It is probably the best university Uzbekistan can offer as of now but hopefully it is going to get better and better in years to come. So if you are planning to study in Uzbekistan, NUU is one of the best options you have.

У тeбя новый анонимный вопрос: what do you think about studying in Uzbekistan? if somebody would come from kazakhstan to uzbekistan to study. Is it worth it? Honestly, I don't think so. I am not really sure that the best university in Uzbekistan is superior to the best university in Kazakhstan. In financial terms it is cheaper to study in your own country compared to in any other neighboring countries. So I would not suggest doing it given there are no other specific circumstances that make it a viable option for you.

I saw that now you only need IELTS of 4.0 to apply to masters in Uzbekistan. I can't imagine how person with IELTS of 4.0 can understand research papers written in academic scientific English very well.

У тебя новый анонимный вопрос: Can you drive a car? Are you interested in cars? I have to admit I can not drive a car. I am not really interested in cars but I wish to buy Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9. I don't like driving a car. I would rather have a skilled driver who drives very safely to get me to my destination. I really prefer delegating tasks I am not interested in to people who are very good at it. But I will learn driving soon (maybe next year) and be driving until I will have enough capital to recruit personal driver.

What I have been doing during my summer break? Most of the time I have been at home having good sleep and food. Then I was spending time with my family, going to places, conversing on different topics. Then I have been playing a lot of football (probably going to play today too). Then I have been playing videogames, watching movies and reading ranobes. What else should I do in Navoi?

I have been watching second season of docuseries called "Welcome to Wrexham". Wrexham is a football club located in North Wales and was promoted to English Football League 1. For you to understand there are 4 professional football leagues in England which are Premier League, Championship, League 1 and League 2. Second season of "Welcome to Wrexham" encapsulates the 2022-2023 season when they were playing National Football League which is division below the EFL 2. Main idea of this docuseries is to make football more accessible and portray sports more than just entertainment industry. The Hollywood actors Rob McElhenny and Ryan Reynolds (deadpool) are the owners of these club they are investing quite a money into the development of Wrexham AFC and beyond just sporting success they are building huge community of fans across the world. I really enjoyed watching this docuseries and I am excited for season 3 which is going to be fully released from May 2 through June 13. What I particularly like about "Welcome to Wrexham" is footages of changing room teamtalk and how they motivate each other before the game and their emotions after the game be it sense of euphoria or complete devastation (like in funeral). So definitely recommended for fifa nerds that had at some point won champions league with division 4 team taking them all the way up to premier league (me being one of them). Worth to watch if you are also new to football and want to know more about how it is played, how it functions, what impact does it have on local population and how it unites people across the world. 8.5/10 Up next: Ted Lasso

There has been vast discussions on the topic of Israeli occupation of Palestine, genocide, apartheid, dehumanization etc. I thought about the way I believe that many of you, if not all of you, already know about the horrors and its details that are happening to people of Gaza, so I do not want to reiterate all the valid criticism in this post wasting your and my time. Instead I want to cite Omar Suleiman, American Islamic scholar and civil rights activist, whose take on possible ways we can help Palestinians I found very powerful and uplifting: "I think that if you look through history, we have been through points as a world where we almost were not going to exist anymore. If you lived in the time of the Crusades, if you lived in some of these darker moments of history—World War I, World War II—you probably thought you weren't going to come out of this as a world. I have hope in God, and I have hope that godly people—people that are devoted to God and people of righteousness—can shift things with His help. I also believe that younger people, I hope they'll be different. I think younger people, hopefully—I’m using the word "hope" a lot—you know, you might hear "inshallah," "God willing," will see the path that we're heading and will seek to disrupt this bleak trajectory and bring it back to something else. So, here's the thing: we live in a time of hyper-exposure. That hyper-exposure could paralyze you, or it could empower you. It could make you completely shut down and say, "What's the point of even trying to help these people out? Why even talk about the Palestinians? You've got these people here—the Uyghurs, the Rohingya—you've got what's happening in Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Brazil, South America, Africa, Ethiopia, Somalia." It's so much, and it can be overwhelming to a person who cares. But you ultimately realize that the difference that you can make can become a much greater difference, even if it's after your lifetime. I'll tell you actually a story that I remember from the first time I went to Syria—Syrian refugee camps. You deal with people in this deeply human way. For me, the most clarifying parts of the world are the refugee camps. It's where I feel the most clarity in life about what I'm supposed to be doing in life. You go to the refugee camps, and then after you interact with these people and, you know, maybe give a few people some trailer homes and some food and something to sustain themselves—some coats and blankets—you drive out of the refugee camps back to where you're staying. The camps get bigger and bigger and bigger, and the people get smaller and smaller and smaller. But then you realize that it might be that small section that I touched is going to be the change that affects all of them. What's going to happen to that 12-year-old boy who has seen the horrors of this world and is absolutely committed to uplifting his people and bringing about a change, being responsible for the plight of his people? And so, when I look at any section of devastation in the world, you never know which part of it that you're going to touch that's going to change everything by the grace of God, by the help of God. So, you keep trying to do your part. You know, the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said that the most beloved of deeds to God are the consistent ones, even if they're small. That small act of charity, that small smile, that small act of kindness, that small prayer might go a long way if He blesses it. So, keep chipping away, chipping away, chipping away. Do not be paralyzed by the scale of the division. Just chip away at it, chip away—small step at a time. That's what I suppose all of us can do, what young people can do: just one person at a time, try to help." *Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOKCNUqbpH0

As my spring semester at university came to an end I wanted to briefly reflect upon the courses I have taken this semester. 1) Foundations of Science [8 credits]: this course encompasses introductory physics, chemistry and biology putting more emphasis on chemistry (which can be assumed from credit distribution). The course contains five components which add up to 8 credits and are chemistry (3 credits), physics (1.5 credits), biology (1.5 credits), chemistry lab (1 credit), physics lab (1 credit). Overall, the course was not that challenging, however, given my poor physics background I had to do a lot of catching up and practice. For me biology was the easiest as I got an A for it and physics was the hardest as I got B+ in it. 2) Multivariable Calculus (Calculus III) [4 credits]: this course mainly focuses on calculus in 3D and beyond. That is, throughout the course we learned about different applications of integrals and derivatives and matrices and how to use them to compute things like flux, curl, divergence, volume of the sphere, line integrals and surface areas. Overall, the course was challenging but useful. Students basically learn how MATLAB and all software that deals with hard computations in 3D work. I received a final grade of B for this class. 3) First Year Writing Seminar [4 credits]: this course’s main objective is to prepare all freshmen to be able to write academic papers. Throughout the course we had to write 3 essays with each one progressively giving more freedom and word limit (1500, 2000 and 3000 words). Since writing an essay is not one of my strengths I had to put some work into it. I have to admit that I used ChatGPT and Copilot while writing the second and third essays but I used them mainly for searching and summarizing purposes. I am very happy with my third essay where I wrote about the cotton industry in Uzbekistan and how it links to themes of Soviet imperialism and slavery. I got a final grade of A for this class. 4) Engineering Ethics [1 credit]: we basically learned that you can not gamble in engineering. I think I got an A for this class. I could have done better in terms of time management and discipline this semester. Hopefully in next semesters I will be more strict with myself. Lowkey I am very happy that I proved to myself that I do not actually suck in chemistry and that everything is possible if you will put your mind into it and actually sit and study.
