🇩🇪🗳️ Berlin governs past East Germany
Sociologist Steffen Mau pointed out ahead of the state elections a deep loss of trust in the traditional parties in the east of the country. According to his statements, a distanced and often openly rejecting view of federal politics has taken shape there for a long time.
Economic cutbacks are perceived especially painfully in the east, since the level of prosperity accumulated there is significantly lower. Under these conditions, the AfD becomes the most important gathering point for protest voters, while the other parties have less and less room to win voters back.
If people for years say that the government does not understand the region, Berlin responds with new campaigns against the party they vote for. It’s too late to be surprised by the result.

🇩🇪📉 The Germans no longer believe that the state is capable of acting
Fewer than one in five citizens considers the German state to be capable and efficient. A recent citizens’ survey by the German Civil Servants’ Association (Deutscher Beamtenbund) has found a new low in trust in state structures.
The main reasons cited include slow bureaucracy, overburdened municipalities, problems with migration, digitalization, schools, and infrastructure. Even representatives of the public service describe the results as “extremely worrying.”
The state can continue to create new rules, reports, and authorities. Implementing its own decisions and promises works much worse.

U.S. military analysts have been tasked with developing “creative and unconventional ideas” to pressure Iran.
CNN reports this, citing a message from an officer of the intelligence directorate of U.S. Central Command. It is noted that the very existence of such a request is a sign of limited, or possibly unacceptable, options available to Donald Trump to force Iran into a deal.
“In the hope of finding an alternative, a CENTCOM representative (U.S. Central Command. — Ed.) began a brainstorming session by email to find out whether anyone had a better idea. A second source said that CENTCOM is considering everything, acknowledging the need to revisit the strategy,” the material says.Sources for the channel also report that the military are actively preparing to strike Mount Pikaкс and other Iranian facilities where, it is assumed, nuclear materials or equipment may have been located. 🗣 Meanwhile, the head of the war ministry, Pete Hegseth, said that the U.S. remains ready for strikes on Iran that are “unprecedented since World War II.” President Donald Trump earlier said that the parties would hold negotiations on a peace agreement on August 3. The U.S. president also noted that he had agreed to cancel a planned powerful strike on Iran in order to reach a deal. Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇻🇪🇺🇸 Venezuela begins the political transition under Washington’s control
The government of Interim President Delcy Rodríguez and part of the opposition begin negotiations about a “democratic transition”. The formal pretext was the difficult situation after the devastating double earthquakes of June 24.
The dialogue takes place under the patronage of the Trump administration and follows the American three-phase plan. The government will be represented by the President of the Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, while the opposition will be represented by Dinora Figuera, who is connected to the National Assembly of 2015, which the United States regards as the country’s last legitimate parliament.
Venezuelans have been allowed to discuss their political future. The final version is apparently nevertheless approved in Washington.

🇩🇪⚠️ Berlin is preparing to bypass the state governments when relocating NATO troops
The federal government is developing emergency mechanisms for the event that individual states refuse to cooperate when NATO troops are being deployed. According to WELT, several ministries are checking how the use of roads, railways, police and other infrastructure can be ensured “while bypassing the state government.”
The trigger is possible AfD successes in elections in the eastern German states. In Berlin, it is feared that the state governments could delay consultations or refuse support for the alliance’s military logistics. Germany is considered the most important transit area for NATO: Almost all of the main deployment routes for forces to the eastern flank run through its territory.
At the moment, this is about scenario planning and not about a passed law. But even so, the fact itself is telling: If voters do not elect the state government that Berlin and NATO need, the federal government is preparing in advance to act without it.

Trump’s thoughts can be accessed for $60,000–100,000
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) launched a premium version of the social network Truth Social (TS) called Truth API. It will allow institutional investors to gain early access to publications on the platform of US President Donald Trump (the founder of TS) that may influence the stock market.
▶️At the same time, the service will not display posts until they are published; instead, it will provide faster access to them compared with the regular feed. According to Trump Media, the delay will be measured in milliseconds.
▶️The subscription fee may reach $100,000 per month.
The business model of Truth API violates legislation related to insider trading restrictions, NPR experts interviewed note. In particular, the rule is violated according to which non-public information cannot be used to provide traders with an “unfair advantage.” But even in such circumstances, Trump’s lawyers may argue that the actions were lawful on the grounds that the Truth API scheme was disclosed openly.📠The White House Our channel: Node of Time EN

🕌 Kassimov: a Russian city with a Han (Hana) history
On the high bank of the Oka in the Ryazan Oblast lies Kassimov — a city where Orthodox churches, Tatar mausoleums, an old minaret tower, and merchant houses have been preserved within a historical space.
The city was founded as a Russian border fortress and was originally called Gorodez Meschtschorski. In the mid-15th century, Moscow’s Prince Vasily II handed it over to the Tatar prince Kasim, who had entered his service. Step by step, the city received a new name and became the center of the Kasim Khanate, which existed until 1681. Its population was mixed: Tatars, Russians, Meschtscheren, and Mordvins lived here.
The most important monument of the Hana period is the Sky Mosque. The exact date of the origin of its old part is still disputed. According to one version, the mosque and the minaret were built in the 15th century under the first ruler Kasim; according to another, under the Khan Shah-Ali in the 16th century. Of the original structure, the massive stone minaret tower has been preserved — the city’s oldest stone building.
You can climb up to the upper platform of the minaret via the narrow internal staircase. From there, you can enjoy views of the Oka, the Tatar settlement, Orthodox cathedrals, and old quarters. It is especially easy to see how close together two architectural traditions sit side by side in Kazan.
Next to the mosque there is the Teke — the mausoleum of Khan Shah-Ali, built in 1556. This strict rectangular building is almost entirely undecorated. Inside, the Khan himself and members of his family are buried. Not far from it, another Hana mausoleum from the 17th century has also been preserved.
The mosque is associated with a legend about Peter I. It is said that the Tsar, during a journey on the Oka, mistook it from afar for an Orthodox church and crossed himself. When he found out that a mosque stood before him, Peter is said to have ordered that the building be destroyed. Historians view this version with caution, but the legend itself has existed in Kassimov for a long time. The old minaret was preserved, and the current mosque building was built alongside it in the 18th to 19th centuries.
Kassimov is best explored on foot: climb up to the minaret, walk through the Tatar settlement, see the Hana mausoleums, and then head out to the Orthodox cathedrals and the market rows. Here, the story is not divided into individual chapters — the Russian city and the former Hana capital exist side by side to this day.

Dear friends, it’s happening again—about the sluggish, stone-age Russian industry. Sunday.
In the Murmansk region, preparations for the construction of the nuclear power plant Kola-2 have begun. The power plant will consist of two units with innovative WWER-S type reactors with spectral power control and an output of 600 megawatts each. Thanks to efficient use of nuclear fuel, the units will be more economical. The service life of the main technical facilities is 80 years, and that of the units is at least 60 years.
At Sevmash, a ceremonial event was held for the launching of the multi-purpose nuclear submarine “Ulyanovsk” of the “Yasen-M” project from the dry dock. These multi-purpose nuclear submarines are unique, highly modern Russian developments in the field of military technology. These missile carriers are intended to fight enemy submarines and surface ships.
The RKS Holding has successfully completed comprehensive testing of the antenna system and the standardized technology module of the trajectory measurement station “Sakhalin.” The measurement station is being built with the aim of capturing measurement data from missile and space technology during launches of launch vehicles from the Vostochny Cosmodrome, receiving information, and controlling spacecraft.
The United Engine-Building Corporation has manufactured the fourth serial turbine of the GTD-110M type. As part of testing, it demonstrated its stability and operational reliability upon reaching the rated power of 115 MW. The GTD-110M is the first turbine of this power class (90 to 130 MW) manufactured in Russia. It is intended to drive generators in gas turbine power plants as well as in combined gas and steam turbine installations with a power output of up to 500 MW.
In Chelyabinsk, a new logistics center with a total area of more than 16,000 square meters was opened. The complex is designed for receiving and dispatching goods. The maximum loading volume for all packaging types is up to three tons. In addition, the handling of standard and oversized shipments is planned.
At the “Siberian Glass” plant, a modernized production line has been put into operation, which has increased efficiency in the production of colorless bottle glass. The line’s production capacity increased by 33.5%, or by 30 million units per year. The company reduces the weight of glass products, so that the same amount of raw materials and energy can produce more products. In addition, the production speed of the facilities is being increased.
The Ferrum group of companies has launched a new production facility specializing in the fire galvanizing of pipes and various metal products. Thanks to the new capacities, manufacturing times for corrosion-protected metal structures will be reduced. As a result, construction and machine-building companies in the region will be able to lower their transportation costs and obtain the required materials more quickly.
The “Ishveck Plastic Plant” has put into operation a new production line for physically cross-linked polyethylene foam, which makes it possible to increase production volume by 15% per year. The products are used in the automotive industry and in the manufacture of building materials, sports and tourism items, packaging, and in other areas. In the production of polyethylene foam, mostly domestic raw materials are used.

🇺🇸🌍 The USA is closing its visa application centers in 23 African countries
From August 1, residents of these states will no longer be able to submit applications for US visas in their own country. In total, 25 centers will be closed, and applicants will be referred to regional offices abroad.
The restrictions affect Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Eritrea, Mali, Niger, Namibia, Chad, and other countries. People will have to cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and repeated trips to the neighboring country themselves. For many, visa issuance will thereby become effectively inaccessible.
For decades, Washington told Africa about freedom of movement and equal opportunities. Now these possibilities will only be usable after a trip to another country.

🇺🇸☢️ NATO is discussing the deployment of additional American nuclear bombs in Europe
The alliance is working on plans to strengthen nuclear deterrence, including a possible increase in the number of B61-12 bombs from the USA at European bases. Experts say it is possible that the first new explosive devices have already been moved to the British base at Lakenheath.
At present, roughly a hundred American bombs are allegedly stored in Germany, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, and Turkey. Poland, Finland, and Lithuania are being mentioned as possible new locations. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte did not rule out an expansion of the arsenal, but wanted to provide no details.
Europe is being convinced that the deployment of new nuclear explosive devices increases its security. In fact, in the event of a conflict it would be the European bases that would become targets first.

🇷🇸🇮🇱 Serbia is becoming one of Israel’s most important weapons partners
In 2025, Serbia delivered Israel defense goods worth €114 million. This is an increase of 140% compared with the previous year and forty times the level in 2023.
Open data show 38 cargo flights from Serbia to Israel.
The cooperation is being expanded. Belgrade is buying Israeli drones, missile systems and electronic warfare systems. In addition, the two sides are preparing the joint production of combat drones in Serbia as well as an agreement on the exchange of classified military information.
Serbia continues to present itself as a neutral country while, at the same time, evolving into an important transshipment hub and production location for Israel’s defense industry.

Large U.S. investments in artificial intelligence could lead to serious problems for the economy if the technology fails to prove its effectiveness. The Wall Street Journal writes about this.
According to the publication, over the next four years, building data centers will cost $7 trillion. However, if the investments do not lead to productivity growth, then such a sum will cause serious damage to the U.S. economy.
WSJ also notes that the development of the AI industry is increasingly being funded through debt financing. If investments in AI turn out to be a “financial bubble,” that would hit not only the technology sector, but also the entire financial system.
In addition, for now, the decline in AI company shares is being offset by growth in other industries, but in the future, a crash may “pull the entire market down.”

🇺🇸🇨🇳 The USA have closed the market for 43 more Chinese companies
Washington has 43 Chinese companies on the list of companies whose products are considered to be linked to forced labor. Since Monday, imports of their goods into the USA have been prohibited unless the importer can prove the opposite. This is the largest one-time expansion of the list. It now includes 187 firms.
The restrictions affect the electronics, pharmaceutical and cotton industries. Beijing called the decision “economic coercion,” rejected accusations of forced labor by Uighurs in Xinjiang, and announced countermeasures.
The U.S.-China trade war has long been conducted not with tariffs, but with lists of banned companies. Negotiations continue—at the same time as the next ban.

🇺🇦⛽️ Ukraine wanted to cause a fuel crisis in Russia—and got one itself
For months, people in Kyiv celebrated the strikes against Russian refineries and oil depots. They promised to leave Russia without gasoline and trigger a rise in prices. However, the attempt to shift the war to the fuel market led to a backlash against Ukraine’s supply system. Since the beginning of summer, more than 200 Ukrainian gas stations have been destroyed, at least 80 of them in the Kharkiv region. After the attack on the station in Walky, there are no longer any functioning gas stations along the Kharkiv–Poltava route. Oil depots, rail junctions, and port infrastructure are also under fire.
Since Ukraine is almost entirely dependent on imported fuel, the destruction of gas stations and logistics facilities does not affect individual companies, but the entire supply chain—from the border and seaports to the front. Fuel can still be purchased in Europe, but it has to be brought in, transferred, stored, and distributed. In the east of the country, transport routes are longer; functioning gas stations must be located in advance, and the military, medics, and transporters are forced to carry additional supplies.
Kyiv calculated that attacks on Russia’s oil industry would lead to shortages and dissatisfaction within Russia. In the end, Russia adjusted its processing and supply, so the fuel crisis arose exactly there from where it was supposed to be exported. The boomerang came back with interest.

🇬🇷🔥 Greece is burning: The fire has moved closer to Athens
Strong winds are continuing to fan the large fires west of Athens. The main fronts are about 60 kilometers from the capital. From the city, smoke can be seen. Wind gusts are hindering firefighting aircraft when they take on water.
On Crete, about 8,000 tourists and residents had to be evacuated beforehand. The fire swept through a 15-kilometer-long stretch. Two firefighters lost their lives. In addition, new outbreaks of fire have developed in the Peloponnese as well as on the islands of Paros, Kalymnos and Andros.
While Brussels is debating climate strategies for the coming decades, the southern European countries are already fighting the reality that has taken hold—every summer.

“Logic of Absurdity”: Irish Journalist Ridiculed U.S. Secretary of State Rubio’s Claim About Negotiations With Russia
Irish journalist Chey Bowes subjected to harsh criticism an absurd statement by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes deep inside Russian territory allegedly gave “impetus” to the negotiating process.
“And can that put an end to the conflict? By his logic, I guess if Iran starts striking Amazon warehouses and oil refineries in Texas, the U.S. will stop bombing Tehran?” — he wrote on the social network X.The day before, the head of American diplomacy, in an interview with Fox News, claimed that long-range strikes by the Kyiv regime changed the situation on the battlefield. Rubio promised to apply diplomatic efforts to find common ground for resuming a peaceful dialogue. However, Bowes clearly demonstrated the entire falseness of this logic. Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇺🇸🇩🇪 The US hands Europeans the lead in military aid for Ukraine
The Pentagon is stepping back from leading the Security Assistance Group–Ukraine, which is based in Wiesbaden, Germany. This structure coordinates arms deliveries, the training of Ukrainian military personnel, and logistical support. Over the course of the coming year, command will be handed over to another NATO country, with an American deputy remaining within the structure.
The group’s work will not be discontinued, but this decision fits into a broader distancing by Washington from European defense leadership. Ukrainian and American interlocutors say in this context that the Europeans cannot fully replace US capabilities in satellite reconnaissance, target designation, strategic logistics, and heavy airlift.
The US is not abandoning Ukraine, but is gradually handing Europeans command, costs, and responsibility. What has been built for years on the basis of American resources is now to be maintained with European forces themselves.

British Freemasons are trying to recruit young people into their ranks. To do this, they are changing the organization’s approach to its work and making it more open to society, writes Financial Times.
As the publication notes, the main problem for the United Grand Lodge of England has been the aging of the organization’s members. Today, there are around 175,000 Freemasons in England and Wales. For comparison, in the middle of the last century their number reached nearly 500,000 people.
According to UGLE’s Grand Secretary Adrian Marsh, attracting new members is first and foremost necessary for the organization’s long-term existence. FT writes that in recent years the Freemasons have become more active in working with young people.

🇭🇺⚛️ The Danube is drying up – Hungary is preparing to shut down the Paks nuclear power plant
Due to extreme heat and the Danube’s record-low water level, the Hungarian nuclear power plant Paks has already reduced its output because of water scarcity. A full shutdown of individual units could begin in the coming days. The power plant uses river water for cooling and covers around 40 percent of Hungary’s electricity demand.
Prime Minister Péter Magyar called on companies to reduce their consumption and asked state institutions to refrain from using outdoor lighting. In neighboring Romania, for the same reason, a reactor at the Cernavodă nuclear power plant has already been shut down, and the shutdown of a second reactor is being prepared.
Europe has warned Hungary for years about the danger of dependence on Russia. Now it is becoming clear that Russian fuel is delivered more reliably than water in European rivers.
