A guillotine forces a time-limit on the bill as they think it’s urgent to pass through, and because they’ve got a majority government, we “voted” for this to happen. Public consultation for the bill commenced on 19 September to 10 October, 2023 — with a majority of them coming from big corporations which gave their support to the bill. The Liberal-Coalition Government issued an exposure draft of the bill that would ultimately set up the Digital ID legal framework that we are faced with now.
