from my experience, when I was 8 years old I just had the most traumatic experience of my whole fucking life (family thing), and I suffered a lot of bullying. I was tired of that and I just scrolled a lot in the internet (ofc with my mom taking care of what I saw) I discovered the furry fandom, my mom told me that it was fine but to be careful. At first I just made my own fursona and joined small groups of people of my same age. And yes, my first fursona was a blue animatronic wolf... but, yeah, in the furry fandom, these 10 years I've been here, I found a lot of comfort, people I really love (my girlfriend, my friends and very sweet clients) and it was (and still is) a way to escape from reality. I found a lot of comfort in the furry fandom because it was a "small" group, and we were really nice. I'm kind of scared of what kind of people might be joining in the fandom now (we all know the kero the wolf incident for example), and I'm also scared that this might not be a comfort zone anymore. But, yeah, at least I'm happy that people doesn't see us in a weird way now I've been a furry for 10 years and I'm still totally happy, the furry fandom saved my life. In a literal way

myself I see a bit of danger here. I really like the part that people now sees us more normal, but in the other side, big companies are taking advantage of this, and I don't like the fact that this amazing subculture is being mainstream because companies only care about us for money, among other things. But yup I want to hear your opinions!

i have a question: As many of u know, the furry fandom is gaining A LOT of recognition. I really love it, because I barely get made fun of by non-furries lately, but in the other side, we are kind of losing our "spark" so I want to heat your thoughts: What do you think of the fandom becoming mainstream lately?
