We welcome all international students to our university! We know that starting your studies in a new country can be a challenge, but we are here to help you with the adaptation. Here are some tips that can make your stay more comfortable and successful: 1️⃣ Learn Russian Familiarize yourself with the basics of the Russian language. This will help you to communicate and adapt more easily in your daily life. Don't skip Russian classes, as this is an opportunity for you to learn a new language and meet people from other countries. 2️⃣ Explore Local Culture Russia is rich in cultural heritage. St. Petersburg is the cultural capital of Russia. Visit museums, theaters, festivals and try the local cuisine. Every week on Saturday we publish a #where2go post with interesting places and events. Also, our university offers a wide range of opportunities for cultural leisure of students within the walls of the university. 3️⃣ Finalize your documents on time Your university has an international office where you can get help with visa, accommodation and other formalities. Please note that this is a hot period for the passport and visa department. Please plan your visit and paperwork in advance, not on the last day. 4️⃣ Socialize with people Make new friends from different countries. This will help you feel freer and exchange experiences. Our club for international students PolyUnion will help you with this. 5️⃣ Plan your studies Devote enough time to your studies. Don't hesitate to ask your teachers for help, visit the library, and don't skip classes. Remember that exams always come suddenly. 6️⃣ Take care of your health Take care of your physical and mental health. The University provides medical and psychological assistance to students, including international students. Do not forget to take out an insurance policy in time, believe me, it is cheaper to pay for an insurance policy than to visit the clinic and hospital for a fee. 7️⃣ Ask for help If you have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to the administration or fellow students for help. Adaptation can be a challenge, but it also provides many opportunities for personal and professional growth. Enjoy your time in Russia, learn and create unforgettable memories!

Нам стало интересно, что иностранцы думают о нашей стране🇷🇺🔍 Что здесь по улицам ходят медведи с балалайками? Или круглый год холодно? Или красиво настолько, что захватывает дух? Смотрите видео и сами всё узнаете😁 ____________________________ We wondered what foreigners thought of our country🇷🇺🔍 That bears with balalaikas walk the streets here? Or is it cold all year round? Or is it so beautiful that it takes your breath away? Watch the video and find it out for yourself😁

👀 Who are they – these “people in orange”? The study year has already started and Polytech’s gathered students from all over the world under the same roof. So it is the time for tutors to tackle agenda and prepare for our international friends’ arrivals. TutorForces SPbPU is a voluntary student association. 🧡 Their mission is to help international students soon settle down in their new university and tune themselves to life in Russia. 👋 What exactly does TutorForces team do? - meets international students right after their arrival at our city; - helps with dormitory check-in and document execution; - tells about life in Russia and Saint-Petersburg; - organizes colourful events within Polytech as well as in collaboration with other universities. They become true friends for international students and continue their communication beyond the university! 🧡 Don’t miss out on a chance to become a part of their team and get in with the whole world!

🧳 What to pack to Saint Petersburg? The climate and weather of Saint Petersburg can be unpredictable and very extreme. Because of the high humidity in Summer 30C feels like 35C and in Winter -10C feels like -20. And the strong wind can often be more of a problem than the cold. You can't be prepared 100% for a Winter storm in the city, but here are some suggestions which will help you find the best clothes. The longest season is Winter The weather can be really cold from October till April. Then in April-May, there is some spring and in September-October some Autumn. But they are definitely colder than other south-west Europe countries. Summer, Spring and Autumn For summer, spring and autumn you can take a light jacket or sweater with you. It rains a lot, so don't forget your umbrella, and after raining on the streets are many puddles, so make sure you take waterproof shoes with you. If it's warm, there are many mosquitos, so long clothes are sometimes more useful than the short ones. For spring you can bring a light scarf, gloves and cap. Winter We will not say winters are not so cold. Because they are. They can be really cold. Take plenty of socks, gloves, caps with yourself. Scarf to cover your face. Thermal undergarments, many clothes that you can layer. And probably boots for walking in the snow and on the ice.

Supermarkets nearby the university St. Petersburg is a twenty-four-hour city. Bars, clubs, florist’s shops, shawarma kiosks, bookstores, pretty much anything can operate around the clock, and often does. Obviously, supermarkets follow suit. Here is the list of some supermarkets close to the university.👇 1️⃣ Perekriostok 24/7 Address: Nauki Avenue, 23 2️⃣ Magnit 08:00-10:30 Adress: Grazhdanskiy Avenue, 23к1 3️⃣ Mini Lenta 08:00-23:00 Adress: Grazhdanskiy Avenue, 39 4️⃣ O'key 08:00-00:00 Adress: Nauki Avenue, 17к1 5️⃣ Dixi 24/7 Address: Toreza Avenue, 21 6️⃣ Supermarket 24/7 Address: Grazhdanskiy Avenue, 25к1 ❗️ In every grocery shop, you can pay by card or cash. In big supermarkets, you can find not just food, but also products for the household. Even if the shop is 24 hours open, some products you can't buy at night.
