*OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL* *DATE: SUNDAY 2ND JULY 2023* *THEME: DIVINE HELP 1* *MEMORISE:* *My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:2* *READ: Psalm 121:1-8 (KJV)* 1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. *MESSAGE:* The kind of help anyone can render is determined either by the person's might or capability. Nobody can give what he or she does not have. This makes divine help very desirable since it comes from the unlimited God. David knew this secret and penned what we have as part of our text for today. He said, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:1-2). The following are the steps we must take to secure divine help: First, we must fear and trust the One who has unlimited power to help. Psalm 37:39-40 says that the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord and that He shall help and deliver them from the wicked because they trust Him. The second step is to keep the law of the Lord. Psalm 119:145-146 says: "I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O Lord: I will keep thy statutes. I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep thy testimonies". Unfortunately, many self-professing Christians do not want to hear anything about the law of God and would rather overstretch the place of grace to the point of lawlessness. This is not God's will. The third step for those who would benefit from Divine help is to call on the Lord for the needed help. The Bible says in Exodus 20:3: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me". Looking up to anything or anyone apart from God is idolatry. This is dangerous because our God is a jealous God (Exodus 20:5). As a matter of fact, we short-change ourselves by trusting in man that is limited rather than trusting the Almighty, the Unlimited God. The Bible says: Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horse, because they are strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord. Isaiah 31:1 Beloved, I encourage you to surrender your life to Jesus, live righteously and look up to God alone for help. 6. Ignore impending judgment and continue in sin (Rom.1:32). Nevertheless, there is no heart or mind that God cannot change if that person approaches Him in genuine repentance (Isa.1:18; Jn.6:37). People toing the path of reprobacy should repent and turn to God for mercy because there is grace and hope for them (Ps.51:17; Isa.55:7; Rom.10:13). CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Why are there so many reprobates around us? CONCLUSION: Be careful to guard your mind and avoid the gradual drifting, shifting and twisting of thought that moves people towards reprobacy (Rom.12:1-2). INTRODUCTION: Reprobacy is the state or character of being a reprobate. A reprobate is an unprincipled or depraved person. The Greek word translated “reprobate” in the New Testament is ‘adokimos,’ which literally means “unapproved, i.e. rejected; by implication, worthless.” It is that which is rejected on account of its own worthlessness (Jer.6:30). Many people have wondered if at this point a person may be beyond hope. It is imperative, therefore, for believers to study the nature and dangers of reprobacy. OUTLINES: 1. THE NATURE OF REPROBATES 2. DANGERS OF REPROBACY 1. THE NATURE OF REPROBATES There are some pointers to knowing someone that can be referred to as a reprobate. Such persons usually have the desire to suppress the truth with wickedness (Rom.1:18; 2Tim.3:8). They wilfully reject God in their imaginations and actions (Rom.1:21; Tit.1:16). People with reprobate minds choose to worship the creature rather than the Creator (Rom.1:23-25; Jer.10:14). They commit all manner of sins and have no limits or restrictions on sinful behaviours (Rom.1:29-31; Eph.5:3). Reprobates do not only hold onto and continue in their wicked behaviours, they encourage and celebrate others who imitate them (Rom.1:32; Ps.50:18). Those with reprobate minds do not have the Spirit of God and live only for themselves (Tit.1:16). CLASS ACTIVITY 1: What can true believers do to win the reprobates to Christ? 2. DANGERS OF REPROBACY The Bible warns against reprobacy because it leads to a point where God withdraws His longsuffering to save but gives them over to a degenerated mind (2Pet.3:9; Rom.1:28) to: 1. Face the wrath of God (Rom.1:18). 2. Become unclean and dishonour their bodies between themselves (Rom.1:24). 3. Practice vile affections e.g. homosexuality, bestiality, etc. (Rom.1:26). 4. Do those things which are not convenient (Rom.1:28). 5. Be filled with all unrighteousness (Rom.1:29-31).

I Was Contemplating Sui--cide When God Used Bishop T.D. Jakes To Save Me Because I Was Facing Rejections || Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams When Bishop T.D Jakes invited me to dedicate the Potter's House, that was the most difficult time in my life. At that time I was contemplating suicide. The thoughts were coming and I realised later on that it was a spirit that was assigned to mentally to bombard me to give up living. And when he invited me, I was dealing with somuch shame and rejection that made me decided not to honour the invitation, because it will open me up to too many questions. Later on, I took all of myself and I said, "now, I will do it". As soon as I said 'yes', people started calling to the Potter's House and saying you can't have him, do you know what is going on in his life? So, Bishop Jakes called me and said what is going on? And I ask what? He said we have been having too many calls coming in and everybody is talking about you and all that, what's going on? I said, is same thing I have told you, is nothing new, is the same old devil. Perfectedlight. The devil is fighting me and I am also fighting him and so, he is angry with me. So, is same thing I have told you, is nothing new. And he said, "okay, that's fine" But he opened me up to all kinds of contradiction and people where angry that, in the midst of my shame and what they call defeat in my life, I was invited to do such an honourable thing. Sitting there was the vice-president of the United state and every Bishop in the christian community was sitting there. And when they called me to dedicate the Potter's House, I took the microphone and said; "Lord, many are they, that have written me off and say there is no hope for me and that I'm finished. They said politically, financially, religiously that I'm finished. Perfectedlight. There is no hope for me. But thou o Lord, my Glory and thy lifted up of my head" As I took the microphone, somebody stood inside of me. And that prayer was about seven (7) minutes and that opens up America up for me. Up till today, every invitations I have had from all major churches in America, came from that seven minutes prayer and that was the lowest times of my life and it was the time of rejection and embarrassment and mockery. When everybody concluded I was finished, the experts in the kingdom and in the church said I was finished. *KEEP PRAYING* Let nothing be strong enough to cause you not to pray. Anything that takes you away from prayer is not of God. When you succeed, pray. When you fail, pray even more. When you are tired, pray. When you are in good spirit, pray. When you are happy, pray. When you are sad, pray. If you are living in Holiness, pray. When you are entangled in sin, still pray. When you feel guilty of a sin, pray. When you are mocked, pray. When you are loved, pray. When you plan to pray, start praying before the time you planned to pray. Pray during your prayer time, pray before your prayer time and pray after your prayer time. God hears all prayers whether in your prayer time or out of your prayer time, He hears! When you wake up before your alarm, pray. When you wake up after your alarm, don't be guilty, still pray. Pray in season and pray out of season. Don't just talk prayer, don't just plan prayer and don't just wish to pray. Start praying now. Pray everyday! Pray in your schedule and out of your schedule. God does not go farther away when you sin, neither does he draw nearer when you live right BUT he is far from the prayerless and closer to the prayerful. Nothing is an excuse for 'prayerlessness', not your sin, not your failure, not your falling, not your mistakes, not your guilt and not your pain, not your tears. Everything that happens to you have one message, PRAY. Prayer draws God to you. Prayer purifies you. Prayer brings forgiveness. Prayers brings power. Prayer brings breakthrough. Prayer brings healing. Prayer brings miracles. Prayer brings favour. Prayer makes your voice powerful. Prayer makes you live heaven's life on earth. Prayer is walking with God. Prayer is fuel for the journey. Prayer is the force of victory in the midst of temptation. Prayer is the doorway of the supernatural. By prayer you came, by prayer you are living, by prayer you are sustained and by prayer you will enter glory; you doubt me, ask Jesus why he is still interceding for us. Prayer is not a key, but the key. Brethren, whenever you hear about prayer, run to the venue. When people gather to pray, be there. When people talk about prayer, give your ears. When there is opportunity to pray, don't excuse yourself, it's a place to be. Don't wait to be motivated to pray, pray to be motivated to pray. Spending days without praying is trekking miles in darkness to unknown destination. You don't want prayer, you need it. Pray when others are praying. Pray when no one is praying. Pray when asked, pray when not asked. Forget to eat and forget to drink but NEVER forget to pray! Pray ! Pray !! Pray !!! Prayer is a mystery, prayer is life. Let no devil be strong enough to stop you praying. Let no challenge be strong enough to stop you praying Let no sin be evil or 'sinful' enough to stop you praying Be unstoppable! Be ceaseless! He did so, and the airplane engine started... He was happy and opened the next page...: "To get the airplane moving, press the blue button... "He did so, and the plane started moving at an amazing speed... He wanted to fly, so he opened the third (3rd) page which said: To let the airplane fly, please press the green button... "He did so and the plane started to fly... He was excited...!! You know, if you buy any drug, you see at the back of the pack they put the components. Heavenly Mandate . They say chemical composition of this drug. The composition of the communion is the flesh and blood of Jesus. Don't just say, what am I taking? And please in case you came from a religious background where you say, you know I need to be confirmed. If you see confirmation in this Bible, I will not preach from tomorrow. Confirmation was introduced by Catechist. There was no where Jesus said, thou shalt be confirmed. Not one portion! He gave it to His disciples and who is the disciple? Somebody who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Leave religion, read Bible for yourself. Your Catechist is the one who introduced confirmation. Perfectedlight.
