Инопланетянин по имени Макс прибыл на Землю, чтобы изучать загадочных «humans», их культуру и образ жизни. Он учится в колледже, снимает комнату, заводит друзей, в общем, живет обычной человеческой жизнью. Все бы ничего, да вот только его странности и необычные вопросы привлекают к нему лишнее внимание.

- Аудиоуроки в увлекательном формате: следите за приключениями героя, практикуясь в аудировании, изучая слова и выражения в различных ситуациях,
- Первый сезон включает 10 выпусков, по 22-25 минут каждый + PDF с транскриптом текстов на английском.
📌Как устроены выпуски?
Выпуск состоит из 3 частей:
- читаю текст на английском, медленно, без перевода;
- читаю чуть быстрее, но с переводом и комментариями,
- читаю еще раз на английском, но уже в быстром, естественном темпе.

One reason is that the mind prefers consistency. Once people form an opinion, they often notice information that supports it. If a new colleague first seems highly organized, a small mistake later may be seen as an unusual exception. But if the same person initially seemed careless, the same mistake may be treated as evidence of general unreliability. The same behavior can therefore be interpreted differently depending on the first impression.
This is connected to confirmation bias, the tendency to look for and pay more attention to information that matches existing beliefs. Contradictory information may be ignored or explained away as unimportant. As a result, a first impression can sometimes become stronger than the evidence justifies. This matters especially in job interviews, employee evaluations, education, and new social relationships.

Someone else may appear highly confident without having much knowledge.
First impressions cannot be avoided completely, but their influence can be reduced. It helps to consider several examples of behavior before making a strong judgment about someone. People can also deliberately look for information that challenges their initial opinion. In important situations, clear criteria are useful instead of relying only on a general feeling.
A first impression can be a useful starting point, but it should not be treated as a final conclusion. People show different sides of themselves in different situations, and understanding someone usually takes time. Being willing to revise early judgments can lead to more accurate and fair conclusions.
