Once the domain of conspiracy theorists and off-grid survivalists, bunkers have gone glam. Today’s ultra-secure sanctuaries are being built not just beneath remote ranches or desert compounds, but under some of the world’s most elite estates. And these hideaways are no longer concrete boxes filled with canned food—they’re luxury retreats stocked with five-star amenities.

Mark Zuckerberg is said to have started work on Koolau Ranch, his sprawling 1,400-acre compound on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, as far back as 2014.
It is set to include a shelter, complete with its own energy and food supplies, though the carpenters and electricians working on the site were banned from talking about it by non-disclosure agreements, according to a report by Wired magazine.
A six-foot wall blocked the project from view of a nearby road.
Asked last year if he was creating a doomsday bunker, the Facebook founder gave a flat "no". The underground space spanning some 5,000 square feet is, he explained, "just like a little shelter, it's like a basement".
That hasn't stopped the speculation - likewise about his decision to buy 11 properties in the Crescent Park neighbourhood of Palo Alto in California, apparently adding a 7,000 square feet underground space beneath.
Leading figures—including tech moguls, celebrities, and political officials—are increasingly constructing private underground bunkers to safeguard against global disasters. Notable individuals building or known to possess these highly fortified sanctuaries include: [1, 2, 3]
Mark Zuckerberg: Currently constructing a massive $300 million compound on the Hawaiian island of Kauai featuring a 5,000-square-foot subterranean bunker. It is designed with its own self-sustaining energy and food infrastructure, along with escape hatches and soundproof, keypad-operated blast doors. [1, 2, 3]
Bill Gates: Renowned for owning multiple high-tech underground shelters beneath several of his residential properties. [1]
Top-Level Politicians & Officials: Recent industry reports indicate that demand for bomb-proof shelters among politicians and administration officials has surged. For example, makers of custom steel shelters in Texas have reported massive spikes in sales and inquiries from key officials and federal government members. [1]
Silicon Valley Tech Elites: Industry insiders report that over half of Silicon Valley’s billionaires have purchased or built doomsday retreats. Prominent figures like Sam Altmanand Elon Musk have heavily fortified primary estates or invested in remote, self-sustaining properties in locations like New Zealand and Texas. [1, 2, 3, 4]
The Tate Brothers (Andrew & Tristan Tate): Reported to have constructed an interconnected $3.9 million complex forming a massive underground fortress complete with hidden passages and secure living quarters. [1]
Celebrities: A-listers such as Kim Kardashian, Tom Cruise, and Shaquille O'Neal have invested in fortified "panic rooms" and concealed shelter spaces within their personal properties. [1, 2]
Elite Industry Trends:
The demand has become so prominent that architectural protective firms now offer elite, high-end underground facilities with exclusive memberships to access robotic medical suites and luxury amenities. Google’s Debug project plans to release 64 million bacteria-infected mosquitoes
Google’s Debug project is moving forward with plans to release 64 million bacteria-infected mosquitoes (32 million total, 16 million per year) across California and Florida over the next two years. These male mosquitoes carry Wolbachia bacteria intended to mate with wild females and make their offspring non-viable, crashing local populations.
Even if you do not live in Florida or California your state could be next.
This is a reckless, large-scale open-air biological experiment conducted on the American public without meaningful consent. Local communities get no real vote. Once released, these engineered insects cannot be recalled if unintended consequences emerge, including ecological disruption, impacts on other species, or unknown effects on human health.
