🇰🇷💰 — 🏴 ZeroHedge | South Korea's Central Bank Says May Buy Gold In The Mid To Long-Term | April 30, 2024: "Back in 2011, around the time gold hits its previous cycle high, South Korea surprised the fiat world when it revealed that it had spent more than a billion dollars in its first gold purchase in more than a decade, as uncertainty about global growth and sovereign debt push central banks around the world to diversify foreign reserves. It then proceeds to buy a lot more gold (relatively speaking) for the next year and a half before halting purchases indefinitely once again in 2013. It now holds 104.4 tonnes of gold in its foreign exchange reserves, or $4.8 billion, accounting for 1.1% of its total $419.3 billion in reserves at the end of March. That may change soon, however, because with gold hitting a new all time high in recent weeks, South Korea’s central bank may consider buying more gold in the mid- to long-term, even if it is not thinking of immediately buying more after a recent surge in prices of the precious metal, a bank official said on Tuesday. The bank’s rare comments come after this month’s record high of $2,431.29 an ounce in spot gold as growing Middle East tension drove investors to seek safe-haven assets. Captured NATO Military Equipment Put On Month-Long Display In Moscow

"The Only Safe Asset" - Chinese Consumers Overtake India In Gold-Buying Frenzy

Who could have seen this coming? In November 2023, with gold trading around $1900/oz, we highlighted the beginning of a precious metal buying-binge from China, noting that the prcie for physical gold had never been more expensive at the time (while western gold prices were still below their prior record highs). Additionally we noted the total lack of demand for so-called 'paper gold' via ETFs as holdigs underlying these vehicles was declining, as investors rotated from paper to physical:

🇺🇸⚡️🇵🇱🤝🇺🇦 — 🇷🇺 Russian channel Two Majors on Telegram: "Development of dual-use logistics on NATO's eastern flank Against the background of the Quadriga 2024 exercises in Europe, issues of using civilian logistics infrastructure for military purposes (“Military Schengen”) are being studied. The EU's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) plays a significant role in this. The reconstruction of the Chop–Uzhgorod railway (Transcarpathian region) to Eurogauge (1430 mm) has already begun. Work on the Ukrainian section is part of the CEF project, which provides for the modernization of transport infrastructure by the end of 2027 to increase the movement of goods to the EU, incl. “dual-use” (as it is written in the documents, the Military Mobility program). Without any fuss, work within the CEF began in 2022: the INTERPORT terminal at the railway station has been expanding since March. Haniske pri Kosice (Slovakia, €53 million, completion 2026), reconstruction of two runways (700 and 1800 m) and the Polish airport Rzeszow-Jasionka (€16.5 million, 2024-2025) has begun. Развитие логистики двойного назначения на восточном фланге НАТО На фоне учений Quadriga 2024 в Европе идёт проработка вопросов использования в военных целях гражданской логистической инфраструктуры («Военный шенген»). В этом значительную роль играет фонд ЕС Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). Уже начата реконструкция ж/д «Чоп–Ужгород» (Закарпатская обл.) под евроколею (1430 мм). Работы на украинском участке - часть проекта CEF, предусматривающего до конца 2027 года модернизацию транспортной инфраструктуры для увеличения перемещения в ЕС грузов, в т.ч. "двойного назначения" (так в документах написано, программа Военная мобильность). CEF взял на себя 50% расходов (от 128,2 млн. €) в модернизации трёх ж/д пунктов пропуска (ППР) между Венгрией, Словакией и Украиной, двух ппр на польско-украинской границе и одного - на румыно-украинской. Предусмотрены работы на ж/д Украины: от ст. Чоп до ст. Черна-над-Тисоу (Словакия) и Захонь (Венгрия) и участке Батьево–Боржава–Виноградов–Дьяково. Только через аэродром Жешув еженедельно доставляются тысячи тонн военных грузов для Украины, его модернизация позволит принимать борты круглосуточно. ⭐️Развитие НАТО логистики - уже тенденция и делает очевидной подготовку к войне с Россией. Создаваемая инфраструктура, помимо доставки военных грузов на Украину, будет использоваться для вывоза оставшихся украинских ресурсов, сельхозпродукции и ценностей в Европу в счёт погашения непомерных долгов Украины.
