By the time countries found out that they can not trade their dollars for the GOLD, it was already too late. 1971 was the greatest con and wealth redistribution scheme in humanity. The money printer was let loose and the chaos that resulted was terrible! The dollar's value dropped at least 50 percent. All that new money pushed up the prices of assets like real estate and stocks which the rich own and the poor don't. This is how inflation was born!
