🇹🇷 Turkish Attacks Continue Despite Ceasefire Despite the PKK’s unilateral ceasefire declared on March 1, 2025, the Turkish army has unleashed wave of aggression against guerrilla-held regions in the Medya defense zones ❌ In March alone, HPG recorded a staggering 11,585 ground & air attacks—including 169 airstrikes, 98 helicopter assaults, chemical attacks (11), banned weapons (9), drone strikes (9), & over 11,289 artillery bombardments  ❌ Overall, from March through early May, Turkish forces carried out an estimated 23,369 attacks, targeting PKK positions across southern Kurdistan  ❌ April saw attacks surge again: 78 % increase in bombardments and helicopter assaults, with 210 separate incidents documented by CPT, including 42 airstrikes, 153 artillery strikes, and 14 helicopter attacks—with civilian homes damaged or destroyed in the Duhok area  💥 The Gerîla have stated clearly: “We will defend ourselves if attacked.” Video from recent attacks as well as footage of Gerîla drone counter-attacks

Centre for Strategical Research in Kurdistan: The attack on the Damascus Mosque was carried out by HTS members "On June 23, 2025, a massive explosion rocked the Greek Orthodox Church of Mar Elias in the Dweilaa neighborhood of Damascus, Syria. The attack killed 22 civilians and injured more than 60 others. The explosion caused significant material damage to the church and was reported to have been carried out by a suicide bomber. Syrian Interior Minister Nureyn Baba announced that initial investigation indicated that the attack was carried out by the terrorist organization ISIS. According to information we have received from reliable sources, the terrorist attack on the Church of Mar Elias in the Dweilaa neighborhood of the Syrian capital Damascus was carried out by two members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the “new Syrian ruling authority." In the same context, sources confirmed that the person who blew himself up was Ziyad Anwar Al-Idlibi, alias “Abu Al-Baraa”, an official member of HTS." 🔗 Link

HPG calls for action against ongoing Turkish attacks on guerrilla areas with all kinds of weapons HPG warned that the guerrilla forces would exercise their right to shift to an active stance and develop responses in various forms if the attacks on their areas were not halted. Despite a ceasefire declared unilaterally by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), the Turkish army continues to escalate their attacks on the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq). According to the HPG balance sheet for March, the Turkish army carried out a total of 11,585 air and ground attacks against the guerrilla areas in northern Iraq. On April 7, two guerrillas were martyred in the Çirav area in Garê region as a result of two bombardments carried out by an UCAV of the occupying Turkish army. On April 11, two guerrillas were martyred as a result of Turkish attacks with chemical weapons and banned explosives in the Zap region. Read the Statement

#BREAKING | The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has announced it held its 12th congress from 5–7 May in the Medya Defence Zones of northern Iraq. The group says congress decisions will be made public “very soon” after combining results from two separate locations where the congress took place.

Kurdish National Conference in Rojava On Saturday, hundreds of representatives from various Kurdish parties and organizations gathered in the northern Syrian city of Qamishlo to agree on a common position on the reorganization of the Syrian state. The conference was attended by various organizations, some of which have been in conflict with each other for years. These included not only groups affiliated with the Kurdish freedom movement and organizations such as the PKK, KCK, YPG, and YPJ, but also conservative parties such as the KDP and PUK from northern Iraq. The conference adopted a list of demands for a decentralized state model in Syria that would guarantee comprehensive equality for Kurds and all other communities in Syria. Political equality for women was also adopted as a central demand. In addition to the reorganization of Syria, the process in Turkey toward a possible solution to the Kurdish question was also discussed.

Latest Updates from Tişrîn The Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) are present in the Tişrîn area. Mezlûm Ebdî and Rohilat Efrîn are expected to meet with the people there. At the same time, the SDF Command, together with the Coalition, has held an important meeting in the area.

Syria: Agreement on de-escalation at the Tişrîn Dam Yesterday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reached an agreement with the Syrian transitional government on joint control of the Tişrîn Dam on the Euphrates, which has been embattled for months. The SDF and the Turkish-controlled SNA militia are to be gradually withdrawn from both sides of the river. Units of the HTS-led Syrian army are to take control west of the Euphrates. The eastern side will remain under the control of the Democratic Autonomous Administration. Turkey has been trying to advance across the dam to the other side of the Euphrates since December. Civilians have been holding a vigil against the invasion on the dam for 4 months. More than 20 civilian protesters have been killed in bombings. The guns between the SDF and the Turkish army have been silent for almost two weeks, and there is still no official ceasefire. Yesterday, civilians celebrated the success of the military and civilian resistance on the dam.
