WHEN WILL I KNOW THAT I AM RIGHTEOUS? It has been narrated that a man came to ʿĀʾishah رضي الله عنها and asked: “When will I know that I am a muḥsin?” She replied: “When you recognise that you are a sinner.” He asked: “And when will I recognise that I am a sinner?” She replied: “When you believe that you are a muḥsin.” [Al-Tārīkh al-Awsaṭ by al-Bukhārī, 1/12, no. 30] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaHVDfO2kNFjO6CnyX3r

IMĀM AL-BUKHĀRĪ’S FATWĀ ON BEFRIENDING SHĪʿAHS, JAHMĪS, JEWS AND CHRISTIANS Imām al-Bukhārī declared: “I do not see any difference between praying ṣalāh behind a Jahmī or a Rāfiḍī and a Christian or a Jew. They—the Jahmīs and Rāfiḍīs—are not to be greeted, nor are they to be visited, nor are they to be married, nor is their testimony to be accepted, nor are their sacrifices to be eaten.” [Khalq Afʿāl al-ʿIbād, p. 14] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb8DZ1zLCoX1ZdFuvm3G

FASTING IS A SHIELD Ḥafṣah bint Sīrīn—may Allāh have mercy upon her—said: “Fasting is a shield, so long as one does not make holes in it. And making holes in it means al-ghībah (i.e., backbiting).” [Ibn Ḥazm, al-Muḥallā bi-al-Āthār, 4/307] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb8DZ1zLCoX1ZdFuvm3G

THE BELIEVER YUDĀRĪ AND DOES NOT YUMĀRĪ Al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī—may Allāh have mercy on him—said: “The believer yudārī (يُدَارِي: he deals gently with others) and does not yumārī (يُمَارِي: he argues and disputes). He spreads the wisdom of Allāh. If it is accepted, then he praises Allāh; and if it is rejected, he praises Allāh.” [Akhlāq al-ʿUlamāʾ of al-Ājurrī, p. 58] Al-Mudārāh (الْمُدَارَاةُ): A verbal noun of دَارَى يُدَارِي. Its root letters are د ـ ر ـ ي, and it is Form III (فَاعَلَ يُفَاعِلُ). Its basic meaning is treating others gently and tactfully. It also carries the meaning of lowering one’s wing to the people, speaking gently to them, and refraining from harshness in speech. Al-Mirāʾ (الْمِرَاءُ): A verbal noun of مَارَى يُمَارِي. Its root letters are م ـ ر ـ ي, and it is Form III (فَاعَلَ يُفَاعِلُ). Its basic meaning is disputing or arguing. It also carries the meaning of repeatedly disputing with a person in order to expose his error and silence or defeat him through one’s arguments and knowledge. ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī Edited & complied by: Abū Rifq Ādam https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaHVDfO2kNFjO6CnyX3r

SAFETY LIES IN THE BOOK AND THE SUNNAH Our Shaykh Yaḥyā al-Ḥajūrī—may Allāh preserve him—said: “So will you all not fear Allāh and not let your lives go to waste, every time falling into traps? We have had enough experience, O gathering of Muslims. So what is after the truth except misguidance? Indeed, the right path has been made distinct from the wrong path. The Book and the Sunnah upon the manhaj of the Salaf—in it is safety and well-being, by Allāh, until a person meets his Lord.” ═══✺✺═══ Relayed & translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaHVDfO2kNFjO6CnyX3r

THE MOBILE PHONE WITH INTERNET REQUIRES TWO THINGS Our respected Shaykh Yaḥyā ibn ʿAlī al-Ḥajūrī—may Allāh grant him success—said: “The mobile phone that has internet requires two things: • Knowledge to ward off doubts. • Religiousness to resist temptations.” [Akram al-Ghaythī—may Allāh grant him success] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaHVDfO2kNFjO6CnyX3r

THE DECEIVING PLEASURE OF THIS WORLD Saʿīd ibn Jubayr—may Allāh have mercy upon him—said: “The deceiving pleasure of this world busies one from working for the Hereafter. Thus, anything which does not busy the person from working for the Hereafter is not considered a deceiving pleasure, but rather a pleasure which leads to a better type of pleasure in the Hereafter.” [Jāmiʿ al-ʿUlūm wa-al-Ḥikam] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaHVDfO2kNFjO6CnyX3r

SINCERITY IS A CAUSE FOR THE AID OF THE DAʿWAH Al-Imām Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wādiʿī—may Allāh have mercy on him—said: “I advise all of my brothers that they make their actions sincerely for Allāh ʿazza wa-jall. For indeed, the matter of al-ikhlāṣ (sincerity) is magnificent. Al-Ikhlāṣ is a cause for the aid of the daʿwah.” [Website source: http://muqbel.net/fatwa.php?fatwa_id=3073] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaHVDfO2kNFjO6CnyX3r

THE FIRST CREATION ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn—may Allāh be pleased with him—narrated that some people from Yemen asked the Prophet ﷺ about how the matter was from the very beginning. He said: “There was Allāh, and nothing existed before Him, and His Throne was on the water. Then He created the heavens and the earth, and He wrote all things in al-Lawḥ al-Maḥfūẓ.” [Al-Bukhārī, no. 7418] Shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn—may Allāh have mercy on him—said: “The first thing that Allāh created of the things that are known to us was the ʿArsh, and He rose over it (in a manner befitting His Majesty) after He had created the heavens, as Allāh—may He be Exalted—says: { وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِی سِتَّةِ أَیَّامࣲ وَكَانَ عَرۡشُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلۡمَاۤءِ لِیَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَیُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلࣰاۗ… } ‘He is the One Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days—and His Throne was upon the waters—in order to test which of you is best in deeds.’” [Sūrat Hūd, 11:7] [Fatāwā wa-Rasāʾil al-ʿUthaymīn, 1/62] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaHVDfO2kNFjO6CnyX3r

WHEN HIS STATEMENT TAKES PRECEDENCE OVER HIS ACTION Question: “When is the statement of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ given precedence over his action? Likewise, when do we say that it (the action) is specifically for the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ?” Answer: “That which has been established from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ by way of speech, action, or taqrīr (his approval) is considered to be the Sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ, which we have been ordered to follow. If the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was to command us to do something, but yet (the Messenger) did otherwise, then in such a case we take his statement and consider his action to be specifically for him. Specific to the Messenger ﷺ.” [Al-Shaykh Ṣāliḥ ibn Fawzān al-Fawzān] [Website source: http://www.alfawzan.af.org.sa/ar/node/15703] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaHVDfO2kNFjO6CnyX3r

BEWARE THE HONOUR OF MUSLIMS Ibn Daqīq al-ʿĪd—may Allāh have mercy on him—said: “The honour of the Muslims is a pit of Hellfire. Two groups from the people are standing at the edge (of this pit): Al-muḥaddithīn wa-al-ḥukkām (i.e. the scholars of ḥadīth and the judges, due to how they have to speak about the conditions of narrators).” [Al-Suyūṭī, Tadrīb al-Rāwī fī Sharḥ Taqrīb al-Nawawī, 2/892] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb8DZ1zLCoX1ZdFuvm3G

THE CLAIM THAT ALLĀH’S NAMES AND THE QURʾĀN ARE CREATED IS CLEAR DISBELIEF Abū Dāwūd al-Sijistānī—may Allāh have mercy on him—said: “I heard a man say to Imām Aḥmad—may Allāh have mercy on him—that a man said: ‘The names of Allāh are makhlūq (created), and the Qurʾān is makhlūq.’ So Aḥmad said: ‘Clear kufr (disbelief).’” [Masāʾil al-Imām Aḥmad, 1/353] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaHVDfO2kNFjO6CnyX3r

AHL AL-SUNNAH AVOID THE PEOPLE OF INNOVATION Al-Shaykh Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ṣābūnī—may Allāh have mercy on him—said in ʿAqīdat Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah: “Ahl al-Sunnah avoid Ahl al-Bidʿah (the people of innovation) and al-ḍalālāt (deviations), and withdraw from aṣḥāb al-ahwāʾ (the people of desires) and al-jahālāt (ignorance). And they detest Ahl al-Bidʿah who introduce into the religion something which does not belong to it. They do not love them, nor do they accompany them, nor do they listen to their speech, nor do they sit with them, nor do they dispute with them regarding the religion, nor do they argue with them.” [Ḥammūd ibn ʿAbdillāh al-Tuwayjirī, Al-Qawl al-Balīgh fī al-Taḥdhīr min Jamāʿat al-Tablīgh, 1/31] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb8DZ1zLCoX1ZdFuvm3G

PAY YOUR ZAKĀH WHEN IT IS DUE The noble Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn—may Allāh, the Exalted, have mercy on him—was asked regarding the ḥukm (i.e. ruling) on delaying al-zakāh until Ramaḍān (i.e. for the reward associated with that month). The noble Shaykh answered: “Zakāh, like other good deeds, if done at a time that is regarded as having special virtue, that is better. But when zakāh becomes due and the year has passed, it becomes obligatory to pay it, and it should not be delayed until Ramaḍān. If the zakāh year ends in Rajab, he should not delay it until Ramaḍān; rather, he should pay it in Rajab. If the zakāh year ends in Muḥarram, he should pay it in Muḥarram and not delay it until Ramaḍān. But if the zakāh year ends in Ramaḍān, then he should pay it in Ramaḍān. The same applies if some emergency arises among the Muslims and he wants to bring forward his zakāh and give it before the year has passed; there is nothing wrong with that.” [Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn, Majmūʿ al-Fatāwā wa-Rasāʾil, 18/295] ═══✺✺═══ Translated by: Riḍwān al-Kīnī https://t.me/gemsofthescholars https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Vb8DZ1zLCoX1ZdFuvm3G
