Tropical and temperate mountains are compared in the diagram. Overall, the former is significantly taller and wider than the latter, and comes with extra layers that can be used for growing various crops and plants. As regards to tropical mountains, their summit reaches an altitude of 5500 meters or over 20,000 feet. They have six layers, with warm and temperate zones staying at the bottom, which can be used for growing various tropical crops, coffee and other plants. The third layer, which is the largest of all, is called the Temperate zone where grains can be cultivated, while forests can be found on top of this zone. However, trees with broad leaves cannot be grown between these two areas. On top of the forest, alpine meadows can be found, but growing pines in this area is not feasible. A final layer is covered with a layer of permanent snows.  Regarding temperate mountains, they are approximately 14,000 feet tall, and unlike tropical mountains, they do not have temperate and warm zones. However, they offer a large cool zone which can be used for general cultivation, including growing grains and potatoes. Above this zone, one can see forests, at the bottom and top of which broad-leaved trees and spruce cannot be grown.
