Hello! My name is Mohamad Herlin Idris. And today I tell you my #PolytechStory 🫶🏼 You can call me Herlin. I'm from the rainy Indonesian city of Bogor, which has a similar feel to that of St. Petersburg. St. Petersburg is stunning in its own way, but nothing beats the way my hometown is divided by love, story, and grit. Thanks to the Open Doors Olympiad Scholarship Project, I was able to attend Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. As a bachelor with a GPA lower than 3 of 4, it is miraculous that I got this opportunity. Money is an additional issue. Numerous tourist attractions, tasty local fare, hospitable locals, and incredibly low prices have made Russian cities famous around the world. But as an Indonesian with a monthly income of USD $300, it's difficult to get by, even with a scholarship. Time and time again, I'm grateful to have worked with Prof. Anton A. Naumov, who has become more of a father figure than a mere supervisor. Heartwarming friends and staff of the dormitory. With hard work and perseverance, I was able to complete my master's degree coursework in New materials and Additive Technologies. However, it is amusing if you are aware that in Indonesia, a report with the color red signifies failure or "can't continue study." When I get home, I'm anxious about how I'll explain the red color of my diploma to my mom. I hope you all come to this beautiful city full of generous people to further your education so that you, too, can learn how we can become self-reliant through the wonders of science.

🪐 POLYTECH SATELLITE IN SPACE 🪐 - The Polytech Universe 3 ultra-small satellite (cubsat) went into space from the Vostochny launch site together with the Soyuz-2.1b rocket. This is the third Polytech nano-satellite, which studies electromagnetic radiation on the Earth's surface from space, and the first one equipped with an engine! - In 2022 the university sent two cube satellites Polytech Universe 1 and Polytech Universe 2 into space. The main difference between the satellite launched today and the previous ones is in the position stabilization systems installed, as well as in the engine. This will allow the spacecraft to perform maneuvers and change orbital parameters. - Within the framework of the Space Pi project of the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations it is planned to send 100 national nanosatellites developed in Russian universities to the orbit of the Earth by 2025.
