The USS Liberty incident was an attack on a United States Navy technical research ship (spy ship), USS Liberty, by Israeli Air Force jet fighter aircraft and Israeli Navy motor torpedo boats, on 8 June 1967, during the Six-Day War. The combined air and sea attack killed 34 crew members (naval officers, seamen, two marines, and one civilian NSA employee), wounded 171 crew members, and severely damaged the ship. At the time, the ship was in international waters north of the Sinai Peninsula, about 25.5 nautical miles (47.2 km; 29.3 mi) northwest from the Egyptian city of Arish.
🤍 Thank you all so much 🤍 I’ve just received a call from Sam Melia in HMP Hull. His Probation Officer has just informed him that they’ve been “inundated” with letters and emails complaining about Sam not being able to have any contact with his children. As a result, they‘ve decided to remove all but one of the restrictions. This means that Sam can now: - Receive photographs of his children - Receive letters from his children - Talk to his children on the phone - Talk about his children He is still unable to receive visits from his children, however HMP Hull have advised they only haven’t removed this because they legally aren’t allowed to as an assessment has already started to take place. This means the assessment is already moving forward so hopefully the final restriction will be lifted very soon too, all being well. This goes to show that: A) Public pressure does work B) They didn’t actually have to put all those restrictions on Sam in the first place, they just chose to Thank you so much to everybody…
