Some people think that children should aim to be the best at what they are doing while others believe it is not necessary for them. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. People’s views differ as to whether how important it is for children to strive for excellence in their pursuits. While some critics argue that it might not be, I firmly believe that they should try to excel in their endeavours. On the one hand, striving to be the greatest might not be beneficial for the following two reasons. First of all, children should be encouraged to learn from their mistakes rather than focus solely on being the best, as failures and setbacks have always been an important part of the learning process. This learning experience can, in turn, help them become successful in their future careers. Additionally, the constant pressure to be the best can lead to excessive stress and anxiety in children, negatively impacting their mental health and well-being. Therefore, being the best in everything cannot be essential in life. Despite aforementioned reasons, I strongly believe that it is always better to be the most successful at what we are doing for the following three reasons. First and foremost, success and recognition for being the best can boost a child’s confidence and self-esteem since children who feel confident often find it easier to bounce back from the challenges and setbacks. I think this is a life experience that can be beneficial in their adulthood. Secondly, children aiming to be the best can also receive recognition from their peers, teachers, and parents as well as rewards for their achievements. This course of action often serves as motivation for children to achieve better results in the future. Last but not least, children whose aim is to be the best in everything can develop and improve their skills faster because they strive not to fall behind others while being the best. This requires them to work harder, enhancing their skills and helping them remain the best in everything. In conclusion, although some people claim that aiming to be the best in everything can be unnecessary for children, I fundamentally believe, striving to be the best is far more important for them. 336 - words @iskanielts

The table provides information on changes in the daily per person consumption of three types of cereal crops: rice, wheat and maize in Cambodia, Poland, Egypt and Mexico. Overall, of four countries, Egypt consume noticeably more food than any other county overall, with the largest consumption of wheat. While rice is a staple in every household in Cambodia, Mexicans consume more maize compared to any other country. Regarding the consumption of rice, by far the highest amount of rice is consumed on a daily basis in Cambodia at 1445 calories – the largest figure in the table. This is followed by Egypt, the second largest consumer, where the figure is three times lower. By contrast, rice consumption is significantly low in Mexico and Poland with only 57 and 19 calories of rice, respectively. Turning to wheat consumption, Egyptians consume most of the wheat daily – 1095 calories per person. This is closely followed by Poland with 865 calories of wheat being consumed. While the amount of wheat eaten in Mexico makes up 275 calories, the figure for Cambodia was noticeably low, with only 18 calories of wheat consumed per capita each day. Focusing on maize consumption, Mexicans are main consumers with 1083 calories of maize per person on a daily basis, but Egyptians consume almost half of this figure. Meanwhile, maize consumption in Cambodia is relatively higher than that of in Poland where the figure is 0. words Already edited! @iskanilets.

It is widely thought that spending time on TV or computer games is not so good as being engaged in reading for young people. While playing video games or watching TV can no doubt seem so interesting and attractive, I believe that reading stories is often considered as a better activity for children. It is not a secret that many video games are designed with multiplayer modes. I think this is what makes computer games so interesting and appealing for children: They encourage communication, teamwork and cooperation. This, in turn, helps players develop social skills, learn to work effectively as a team or form friendships, which can play a vital role in children’s future life. Additionally, TV can often offer a wealth of information and news, as well as insights into a wide range of topics, ranging from natural sciences to current events which might attract young people. These educational programs can, as a result, serve as valuable tools to improve the overall literacy rate among people in a country. However engaging and appealing these activities are, it is always better for children to be exposed to reading. First of all, we all know how important having a rich vocabulary is. Not only does it allow children to be more fluent when speaking or find the right words to express our ideas quicker and more efficiently, but it also improves our ability to comprehend complex concepts and ideas. This, in effect, helps children express themselves better from an early age. In addition, children are well-known for having a very short attention span – a common issue around the world these days. Reading stories helps them improve their ability to concentrate for longer periods, leading to increased comprehension and attention. The longer they can concentrate on reading, the more information they can absorb in one sitting, which later leads to better learning abilities. In conclusion, although TV and video games might be preferred by many children, I believe there is no activity as beneficial as reading for them 330 words. @iskanielts.
