Poison Girl Friend – Love Me Columbia, 1994 #albumweek Lovely to see that this amazing artist is having a moment again and captivating a whole new generation of fans, and for good reason!! This one is my favorite of her albums, the perfect blend of out there experimentation and perfect pop catchiness. Sounds like it could have been made this year. — Jake Orrall

Bobbi Humphrey – Satin Doll Blue Note, 1974 #albumweek Bobbi’s flute playing is incredible as usual but some of the grooves especially on side two are so otherworldly and mind-blowing that it’s hard to believe this music is of this earth. — Jake Orrall

Ghost – Lama Rabi Rabi Drag City, 1996 #albumweek Ghost has been a very important band for me since discovering them before college, but somehow this album always escaped me, maybe it was out of print on cd at the time. But I recently got a used copy on LP and it’s been blowing my mind, just the most beautiful inspiring ballads and trancelike passages that really take you out of it and warp your reality. — Jake Orrall

Ive been a life long fan, but revisiting them from a new perspective recently and really digging in to each era has been so rewarding. This is the ultimate “chill Crimson record, with elements of spiritual jazz and proto-indie passages that remind me of Yo La Tengo or Sonic Youth. — Jake Orrall
