FREEDOM TECH: Signal If you’re looking for an alternative messaging app, you might want to take a look at Signal. It offers end-to-end encrypted messaging, voice and video calls. It’s open source, designed to minimise metadata, and widely regarded as one of the most secure mainstream messaging apps.

Sadiq Khan recently produced another study claiming ULEZ is a great success. A study that: - Was partly funded by his own office - Covers the entire "lockdown" period - Comes from Queen Mary University - the same university where leaked emails showed Khan’s deputy, Shirley Rodrigues, asking academics to "reword" a previous study after it found "no evidence" of benefits to children’s lungs Her complaint? "It reads like LEZ or similar have no impact at all." Surely not, Mayor of London?!

Minister Lisa Nandy says the Govt plans new law requiring major tech companies to build government-mandated “protections” directly into phones and tablets Nandy wants to take state control beyond websites and platforms - and right into the devices you own We say: stop digital ID and age verification systems that function as identity checks, plus device-level surveillance on apps and phones in the UK. Protect parental control and privacy. Protect the open internet. #dontidtheinternet

🎉 NEW SPEAKER ANNOUNCED FOR 7 NOVEMBER: CONNIE SHAW Connie is External Affairs Officer at the Free Speech Union and a contributor to GB News. She appears on TV and radio, promoting the FSU’s campaigns and cases, and contributes to GB News’ digital output focusing on women’s rights, free speech at universities and multiculturalism. Connie rose to prominence after she was permanently removed from her committee position at Leeds Student Radio due to her gender critical views. 🚨 NEW: The cost of administering the Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme has more than tripled - from £8.9m in 2022/23 to £29.2m last year A question from MP Chris Chope has just revealed that across four years, over £83 MILLION was spent on just *administering* a scheme in which 99% of applicants received no payment It still demands at least 60% disablement and offers successful applicants a one-off amount up to £120k - not proper compensation VDPS needs reform https://parallelparliament.co.uk/question/10556/vaccine-damage-payment-scheme

🎉 NEW SPEAKER ANNOUNCED FOR 7 NOVEMBER: BERNIE SPOFFORTH Entrepreneur, writer and commentator Bernie Spofforth will be joining us at Together’s 5th Anniversary Event in London! In August 2024, Bernie was arrested and held for 36 hours after tweeting - and then deleting - what turned out to be an inaccurate claim about the Southport attacker. She was never charged, and police later confirmed that no further action would be taken. That experience placed Bernie at the centre of a national debate about free speech, media narratives and the power of the state. Her first book, A War to Win Back Your World, examines the machinery of modern power - and what happens when an ordinary citizen finds herself caught inside it. Bernie joins Professor Norman Fenton, Mike Graham and Bruce Hamill and Katharine Birbalsingh, with more speakers still to be announced. 🎟 Low-priced Early Bird tickets won’t be around forever - book yours now: 👉 https://togetherdeclaration.org/tickets

Government's OWN One Login terms say it can't guarantee the system will always be available, error-free - or "completely secure" No digital system can offer zero risk And that's exactly why people should NEVER be left dependent on one system to deal with government Digital routes need a genuine offline backup

NEW: One Login keeps evolving - but where is the proper scrutiny? Passkeys are now being rolled out to a reported 23 million GOV UK One Login users, following a 300,000-user trial. Passkeys are optional and should make individual accounts harder to hack or phish. If you use Face ID or a fingerprint to unlock a passkey, your biometric data is not shared with One Login - it stays with your device. On the face of it, that's a useful security improvement. But look at the bigger picture: One Login is already being used across 200+ government services and functions, with further expansion planned. Yet this increasingly important piece of national digital infrastructure has developed at extraordinary speed without anything like the Parliamentary scrutiny it deserves. And making individual accounts harder to phish doesn't answer serious questions about the security of One Login itself. Whistleblower reports have raised significant concerns, while independent security testing previously found that privileged access to the system could be compromised without detection. With millions of people being driven to use it, we need a freeze on One Login. Before it expands any further, we need independent review, proper Parliamentary oversight and guaranteed non-digital alternatives. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/millions-of-people-to-benefit-from-simpler-more-secure-way-to-sign-in-to-government-services

A digital driving licence on your phone is not the same thing as a compulsory national Digital ID, but the Government is connecting digital credentials, the GOVUK Wallet and the One Login app - and something much bigger is starting to take shape The question isn't just what each part does TODAY It's what the combined system could become TOMORROW #OneLogin
