The book characterizes the invasion not as an act of aggression but as a “forced” move to protect Russian sovereignty, drawing parallels to Soviet Unions struggle the against the Nazis during World War II. This comparison is designed to evoke patriotic sentiments and align modern-day actions with historical heroism. The textbook has been edited by Vladimir Medinsky, a close aide to President Vladimir Putin, reflecting the Kremlin’s active role in shaping the narrative. It attributes the conflict to NATO’s eastward expansion and what it describes as Western interference in Russia’s sphere of influence, positioning Russia as a victim compelled to defend its security and territorial integrity. By framing the war in this way, the textbook not only seeks to rationalize current geopolitical actions but also to foster a sense of unity and legitimacy among the younger generation. This deliberate reframing highlights the potent role of education in shaping political ideologies. By introducing such a narrative into classrooms, the Russian government is attempting to cultivate a generation that views its foreign policies through a lens of justification and nationalism. Critics argue that this approach weaponizes education, using it as a tool to suppress dissent and promote state-approved versions of truth. The long-term impact of this effort may be the entrenchment of a worldview that aligns with the Kremlin’s objectives, shaping societal perceptions and political attitudes for decades to come.

About The Apple Man of India: Who is Shri Hariman Sharma? Shri Hariman Sharma is a visionary farmer from Paniala, Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh), who overcame significant personal challenges to revolutionize Indian apple cultivation. Despite being orphaned early in life, he pursued his passion for farming and pomology, introducing a self-pollinating apple variety that thrives in warm climates. The HRMN-99 Variety Development: The HRMN-99 apple variety was created in 1998 when Shri Sharma planted discarded apple seeds in his backyard, producing fruit even in warm conditions. Features: HRMN-99 is a low-chilling, self-pollinatingapple variety suitable for tropical and sub-tropical regions with temperatures of 40-45°C. It bears striped red-over-yellow apples with soft, juicy pulp, yielding up to 75 kg of fruit per plant annually. Adoption: It has been successfully cultivated in 29 states and UTs, including non-traditional apple-growing regions like Bihar, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.

Story on Happiness A sage named Narada travels to find the happiest person in the world but fails to find one until he meets a poor farmer who is always content and happy despite his poverty.   Narada asked him to teach him how to be happy like him. The farmer then gave Narada a small bag of rice and told him to carry it on his back and walk around the village. Narada was confused but followed the farmer’s instructions. But the more he walked, the heavier the bag of rice became. Narada soon realized that the bag was becoming a burden, and he was starting to feel tired and unhappy. He went back to the farmer and told him about his experience. The farmer smiled and said, “Happiness is not about what you have or what you do. It’s about how you carry your burdens.”   Narada understood the lesson and realized that happiness is not something that can be found outside of oneself. It comes from within, from having faith, gratitude, and contentment, no matter what one’s circumstances may be. The Hungry Lion On a very hot day in the forest, a lion was feeling very hungry. He was looking for prey to eat. When he came out of his den, he looked around and all he found was a tiny rabbit. He leapt forward and caught the rabbit with ease. After catching the rabbit, he looked around and saw a deer running away in the distance. “This rabbit is too small. It can’t fill my stomach” thought the lion. The lion became greedy and thought; “Instead of eating this small rabbit, let me eat the big deer.” He let the rabbit go immediately and went chasing the deer. But the deer vanished into the forest before the lion could reach it. The lion had now lost the rabbit as well as the deer because of his greed. Moral of the story- A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

The case involved publishing classified documents and raising issues about national security and journalism.   Ethical issues in the WikiLeaks case:  Public right to information vs. government need for confidentiality: Balancing citizens’ right to know about government actions and the government’s necessity to uphold confidentiality in matters of national security. Protection of whistle-blowers vs. national security: Safeguarding individuals who expose wrongdoing while considering threats to national security. The Proud Rose Once upon a time, there was a beautiful rose plant in a garden. One rose flower on the plant was proud of its beauty. However, it was disappointed that it was growing next to an ugly cactus. Every day, the rose would insult the cactus about its looks, but the cactus stayed quiet. All the other plants in the garden tried to stop the rose from bullying the cactus, but the rose was too swayed by its own beauty to listen to anyone. One summer, a well in the garden dried up and there was no water for the plants. The rose slowly began to wilt. The rose saw a sparrow dip its beak into the cactus for some water. The rose then felt ashamed for having made fun of the cactus all this time. But because it was in need of water, it went to ask the cactus if it could have some water. The kind cactus agreed, and they both got through summer as friends. Moral of the Story Never judge someone by the way they look.

Power of Concentration While Swami Vivekananda was in America, while passing through a bridge, he saw that some boys from the bridge were trying to shoot egg shells that were floating in the water below but they missed every time they shoot. Swami ji were watching all that from a distance. After watching this for sometime, he went close to them and took asked boys for gun. Boys hesitated but then gave gun to Swami ji Swami ji fired twelve times and every time he fired, he hit egg shells. Boys were surprised to see that a monk was able to shoot gun with such precision. Inquisitive boys were surprised to see this and asked, "How were you able to do this?" Swami ji replied, "Whatever you are doing, put your whole mind to it. If you are shooting then your mind should be only on the target only then you will be able to do this. Once you learn to focus your mind on target then you will never miss it." We should Learn to Focus our Mind and then we will be able to Achieve whatever we wish and Aim for.

The Integrity of Rama Everyone knows of the Ramayana, the epic which chronicles the stories of the sixth incarnation of Mahavishnu, Lord Rama. In the Ramayana, Rama is forced to leave his kingdom and go into exile with his brother, Lakshmana, and wife, Sita. ANear the end of his exile, Ravana, the king of Lanka, kidnaps his wife and holds her hostage. Facing all terrible odds, Rama manages to fight Ravana and his enormous army, and defeat them, rescuing his wife. Moral Lesson: The moral of this story is the bond shared between two brothers, and a husband and wife. It will teach your child about friendship, integrity, and love.
