Paradox of regret:
Regret only occurs in absence of responsibility
When you pass on the blame, you open the possibility of blaming yourself for listening to them
When you take the blame, you open the possibility to accept the choices you made and learn
464
Have you ever heard of:
"All you need is a strong purpose to build discipline"
It's right, but it lacks the depth. Here's the depth you need to know:
You need a strong purpose because it creates a sense of urgency. it creates stress. And under optimal stress, we work well.
Now the issue is, most of the "purpose" you have, is not creating a sense of urgency. Maybe you want a Lambo. Maybe you want freedom.
But none of it has a strong effect on you. The effect that you need.
To build that effect, here's what you should do:
Decrease the time it will require for your purpose to show results. Let me explain...
It takes time to get results in the case of Lambo. So it fails to motivate you. But if you focus on what will happen in the near future, the motivation seeps in.
For instance, if you're dependent on your family for money...think of the different ways in which you'll have to comply with them. Because you won't have any option. Let that feeling seep in.
If you're unhealthy and still miss workouts...don't focus on having 6 packs. Imagine yourself sitting in an hospital with inflammation in your intestine. Or if you want to focus on the positive side, imagine yourself having a better sex life.
Anything that's not too far away in the future
And you'll have your natural drive

Let's do another small activity:
Have a nice look at your daily routine
jot down everything you do
Is there at least 1 bad habit you can replace with work?
For most of you, it will be a big YES
And that just means 1 thing...
You don't need any bullshit productivity advice. Productivity is for those who don't have time.
You my friend, have shit load of time
Don't waste it organizing your desk, setting up 5 productivity apps, having a beautiful to-do list, organizing your calendar and marking it with nice colors
Fuck all that
You have time. You have work. That's fucking it. No ifs and buts.
And look, this isn't some motivational advice. I cannot, and I will not motivate you to work. Because I cannot.
My job is to cut through your bullshit. And this is a big one.
I know most of you don't fall into the productivity trap..because you're a member of Based Zone. But some of you do. And this is for you.
For the rest of you, don't feel overwhelmed when these Twitter gurus talk about their productivity systems. You don't need them right now.
All you need is to get disciplined. And I have already written multiple posts on it. If you need further help, check out my book. It has already helped multiple men: https://re-wire.carrd.co/

Read the last 2 messages multiple times. I cannot emphasise how important this is for you.
Once you truly understand every word, your life will change for the better

Here's another great example:
Categorical thinking
We're constantly placing others into categories based upon insufficient data
For instance...
Someone mentions Andrew Tate. You already believe he is unethical and misogynistic
For some better instances...
If a right winger hears someone talk about gender equality...he is already thinking the other person believes in promiscuity and what not
If a left winger hears someone talk about having a work at home wife...he is already thinking the other person ill treats his wife
Fuck no. These are all your assumptions.
And you're constantly making these assumptions. We all are. Because we don't want uncertainty in life. We don't want open loops.
As much as we like to think we're open minded...we're often thinking in black and white. Of course while introspecting you can think in grey. But when someone asks you a question out of the blue...or you meet a new person...your mind instantly switched to black and white.
Again...human nature
Once you understand this, it will help you in 2 ways:
1. You won't be afraid of people judging you, because you know it's just their human nature
2. You'll be more aware of your behavior and stop yourself from being a fool. If you can't accept your basic human nature, you'll forever remain a fool. To be wise, you have to get rid of your false ego. You have to accept.

Most are forever trapped in logic
Logic doesn't work in life. Human nature does
You can conduct a research. It won't mean shit. Anyone can work in a controlled environment. The same doesn't work when it's a life-death situation
This is the reason so many hate realists like Andrew Tate
Not to say I agree with him or dis-agree with him. That's not my point.
It's the fact that most people fail to ever give such people a space in their head. They are trapped in the reality they want to exist, but doesn't
For instance, feminists often mention that women's freedom must not be taken away. It's the men that need to get better.
In an idealistic situation, they are right. But you're missing out on human nature. You're missing out on the nature of men.
Similarly, you can teach your kids every societal ethic. But they'll see you either not follow them, or they'll see you not succeed.
You can say men and women can work equally well in a stressful environment, but there's a reason men take lesser time than women while shopping.
Now, not everything is perfect for men
It's often easier for women to get over someone because they feel their emotions and get over with it. On the other hand, men try to forcefully curb their emotions and often end up miserable.
it's often men who take stupid destructive actions because they fail to understand their emotions...or to the least, not take terrible action under the influence of emotions.
Both have their advantages.
There are many more examples...outside the paradigm or men and women. You can observe them in real life.
For instance, we like to call ourselves rational. While we're all emotional beings. We all feel stress. We all feel love. We all feel happiness.
We all have the impulse to take terrible actions under influence of emotions. We all support our ideologies with irrational arguments.
But most fail to realize this. Most live in their false belief of rationality...failing to ever take rational decisions
Because...
Most are trapped in logics. Failing to understand human nature and using it to their benefit.

Repost from Corporate Machiavelli
"Boys born into wealthy families end up lazy."
Real world observations do NOT support this narrative.
Boys born into wealthy families experience IMMENSE PRESSURE to succeed in school, and at making money as adult men.

Does life feel more boring before or after watching Netflix?
Replace Netflix with anything you do
After consistently performing an activity, ask yourself:
Do I feel better just being with myself, or worse?
Never do anything that makes you feel worse when you're worse
And when I say "worse", I am not referring to regret. The regret is often a result of societal programming.
For instance, you don't really regret watching porn. It's the societal programming. Not to say that porn is good, but the regret is not a part of you.
What's important is to focus on happiness and restless. If you feel restless while you're alone. Or if you constantly crave something. There's some habit you need to change.

"The grass is the greener on the other side"
Nah. That's what we think we're thinking.
While in reality, we're always assuming the other side is doomed.
Spiritual people believe materialists are miserable
Materialists believe spiritual people have lost in life
We're always trying to validate our way of living by negatively judging the other side
Can you spot the trap?
You're never focused on how to live the right life. You're focused on how others are not living the right life.
The focus is always external. Never internal.
And as long as your focus in on the external, you cannot improve. You'll forever fall into traps and ideologies.
Escape it by ruthlessly introspecting your life. For every action you take and every action you don't take, ask yourself:
"How is this impacting my life"
If something is clearly slowing your growth, stop justifying it. Sounds simple, but in real life, it's quite difficult. It's not easy to escape your patterns. But you have to do it. You have to become ruthless.
You have to analyze your life. You have to break your life apart, remove the un-necessary parts and put it back together. This is how you grow.

Repost from Eternal Truths
Whenever you find yourself amidst swelling emotions know that you are attached to the thing that is causing emotions. Take this as a signal to detach and take a step back.
Maybe an event in your life isn't unfolding as you expected and hence feeling frustrated, swayed by emotions. The key word is expected.
At this moment, stop being an active participant in your fantasy and switch to being an observer in your reality. It is for this reason you don't ACT under the influence of emotions, rather observe.
Act when in the state of detachment, observe when in the state of attachment.

In 1 of my threads I mentioned that I keep my phone near me while working
While everyone advices you to switch it off. And I never let myself get disturbed by it.
Well, here's what I am trying to convey
Keeping your phone is not going to help you focus. Because the problem isn't with your phone.
The problem is with your mind. It lacks the ability to focus.
You can take the phone away, and it will find other distractions
A better solution is to make your mind more disciplined and focused
And I do that by putting myself in distractive environment and trying to focus. For example, keeping my phone near me.
Now, of course I am not saying you should work in a distractive environment. Even I can't work in a very distractive environment.
What I am want to understand, is to become intentional and focus on the root of the problem
The root is your weak mind. And you need ways to make it stronger. Not just ways to make the environment more comfortable.
Again, improving your environment helps. For instance, I work better in cleaner environment. But you have to be very intentional with what you're doing. You have to be focused inwards, not outwards.
Do you understand?

Grand Rising
Let's do an activity together that I learned from Jordan Belfort
Raise your right hand. As high as you can.
Stop reading. Do it now you lazy ass.
Now, raise it even higher.
Could you raise it higher?
Of course you could. It you might have felt a bit of discomfort, but it was doable.
But why didn't you raise it that much when I first asked you to?
Because...
Drum roll...
Comfort
We're always just as much as we think we need to do. But it's never enough.
There's always more. Sure it's not that comfortable, but it's doable.
If you ever feel stuck in life, remember, this is the fucking reason.
You need to do more
Increase your speed. Increase your work.
Or, change your plans
If something isn't working, it isn't working
Stop trying to make it work by doing the same thing. Get out of that comfort zone.
Push yourself a little, and you'll get the shit done.
Have a Based Sunday

Another reason awareness is important:
Without it, your mind can turn stress into anxiety withing seconds
Let me give you an example:
You want to leave your job/school to focus on your business
You have to make a decision that you'll have to live it. And it causes stress.
That stress means you're being serious about the decision. You're not taking it lightly. You don't have the same stress when choosing what to wear (except, some stupid people have it).
But this can turn into anxiety. How?
By shifting your focus towards the most negative outcome. It's not even just the negative outcome. It's that feeling of failing. It's that feeling of embarrassment...that's all made up in your mind.
And this is the result of lack of awareness
Look, I am not asking you to be optimistic all the time. You have to consider the worst case scenario.
But you have to be aware when your mind is making the shit up. It's making shit up to keep you inside your laziness. It's making you imagine the embarrassment...rather than focusing on how you can get shit done.
And if I have to speak the Truth...it's not even the mind. It's you. You want to quit. You don't want to do what's obviously right for you, because you're lazy. You want to stay in your comfort zone.
Understand and realize this deeply. Learn to cut through the bullshit.

If you truly want to change your life, you have to take some lessons from the bad people
You can't always be taking lessons from the "good" people around you
The good people haven't changed their ideas for centuries
For example:
Years ago, we you should live in small tribes. You couldn't make a mistake without people knowing about it.
But now, you can do the fuck you wanna do, and no one will care
The bad and evil people understand this
But the good people...they're still programmed
They like being considered "good"
They're stuck. Their focus in life is fucked. Always concerned about how others perceive them
Normally, you should be something for people to see you in a way
But that's not how people function now
The good people create an impression. And that impression soon becomes their identity
I want you to stop doing this. Stop trying to always be the good person. Realize that the world has changed, and it's time to focus on individual growth before you look after the society
