In these difficult times, we should train ourselves with patience and fear of Allah. Of course things are hard, but we shouldn’t be tempted to engage in haram dealings. It is sad to see some people putting up scammy fundraising campaigns, charging ridiculous amounts on their goods, lying to make a single sale, among others. We should remember that while we are in desperate search of money, it is only Allah that has the capacity to give it to us. You can charge ridiculously and extort people to gather some cash, but you might not be the one to later spend that money – because you might be dead even before the end of today. Some people have scammed others, stacked up cash and food for the next 6 months, but maybe their graves would be dug up today. So my brother, in this time, hunger is more honourable than theft, contentment is preferred over greed, and hard work is more profitable than begging. Stand up, stop complaining, get back to work, and rely on Allah alone. - Hasan
