For the time being I'm opening the comments for you guys to ask related questions.

Hello everyone I hope everyone is doing well. In the recent light of events I've got quite a few DMs asking about the security situation of Jammu Division maybe because many of you know that I am a native of the state. Keeping this in view I have decided to explain this situation on this channel even though I never intended to do so since I made this channel for sharing imagery and writeups related to India's Special Operations Forces. Many of my friends and family have served and are serving in various capacities throughout the security infra deployed in J&K, the person whom I consider my best friend also belongs to one of the places that is currently facing the brunt of this proxy war waged by pakistan. My next few writeups will try to cover the situation. So please give me some time, I'll try to end as much confusion as I can. Regards

Zorawar Singh Kehluria in the background. - SFF is a self contained Specialized Light Infantry Force that is special operations capable. - SFF is a regiment sized formation with multiple "vikas" battalions. - Each battalion has it's own AO and Specialization. - Purpotedly, there are 2 battalions that are completely staffed and tasked for Special Operations. -Earlier there used to be 1 Vikas/Para Archers that has been decomissioned from Special operations duties. - SFF are mostly used for Special Reconnaisance, Pathfinding and Augmented to Indian Army's Task Forces during certain operations. -There are female members in SFF's support wings incl intelligence and a majority female staffed airborne medical coy.

Rare sighting of 31RR (Commando) during Reasi SADO Operation. - 31 RR unlike other RR battalions have 3 Teams (Companies) instead of the regular 6 Coys. All 3 Deployed at all times at different places. - 31 RR is affiliated to Parachute Regiment. - It is mainly staffed by personnel from Parachute Regiment, JAKRIF, JAKLI and Dogra Reginent. - I have already covered the raising and early operations of 31RR, please do check them out.

Back in 2009, Red (assualt) and Grey(mobility) Sqns of DEVGRU (Tier-1 SEALs) conducted a similiar insertion to rescue the crew aboard Maersk Alabama.

One of the biggest anti-piracy operation in a while. Complete spectrum of MARCOs' capabilities were tested in real combat situation.

Indian Navy Statement: 35 Pirates Captured. 17 crew members evacuated. Interception 1,400 nm from the Indian coast. Total ops time - 40 hours. Assets used : - INS Subhadra - INS Kolkata - HALE RPAs - P8I Aircraft - C17 (for MARCOs airdrop) The vessel has also been sanitised for presence of illegal arms, ammunition and contraband.

Noticed by defence chambers on twitter. A citation of a brave pilot attached to the air wing of Special Counter Terrrorism Unit/1 SG at Sarsawa which has been actively conducting high risk special operations.
