If anyone else out there can't remember all 20 of the top ports to check for, here is an image to save. Also, here is the command for nmap, though there are many options you can also add to the command: nmap --top-ports 20 X.X.X.X Thank you everyone for the comments! Please also take note of ports 5985/5986 WinRM and 31337 a hackers elite port. Port 20 is the FTP data channel in active mode. Port 21 is the default FTP control port. Port 4444 is common for Hacker backdoor access. It is also important to know that Hackers often target specific ports associated with Active Directory (AD) services to gain unauthorized access or exploit vulnerabilities. Here are some of the top Active Directory ports that hackers commonly look for: 1. Port 53: Domain Name System (DNS) - Hackers may attempt to exploit DNS vulnerabilities to perform DNS poisoning or hijacking attacks to redirect traffic or gain unauthorized access. 2. Port 88: Kerberos - Kerberos is the authentication protocol used in Active Directory. Hackers may target this port to launch brute-force attacks or exploit vulnerabilities in the Kerberos protocol. 3. Port 135: MSRPC (Microsoft Remote Procedure Call) - Hackers may attempt to exploit vulnerabilities in MSRPC to gain unauthorized access or execute malicious code on Active Directory servers. 4. Port 139: NetBIOS-SSN - NetBIOS is an older protocol that allows communication between computers on a LAN. Hackers may target this port to exploit vulnerabilities in NetBIOS and gain unauthorized access to Active Directory resources. 5. Port 445: Microsoft-DS (Directory Services) - This port is used for file and printer sharing, including Active Directory services. Hackers often attempt to exploit vulnerabilities in SMB (Server Message Block) protocol, which is used for file sharing, to gain unauthorized access or execute remote code. 6. Port 389: LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) - LDAP is used for querying and modifying directory services, including Active Directory. Hackers may attempt to exploit LDAP vulnerabilities to gain unauthorized access or extract sensitive information. 7. Port 636: LDAPS (LDAP over SSL/TLS) - LDAPS is the encrypted version of LDAP. Hackers may try to exploit misconfigurations or weak encryption settings in LDAPS to intercept sensitive data or perform man-in-the-middle attacks. It's important to note that securing Active Directory involves more than just blocking specific ports. Implementing robust security measures, regular patching, strong authentication mechanisms, and monitoring network traffic are essential to protect against hacking attempts. credit:- https://www.linkedin.com/in/dustin-gray
